PARIS
Dear Srila Prabhupada,
Since the day you introduced us to Krsna, you have always been very attentive to guide and encourage us to attain His lotus feet. How could we have understood that even your first instructions would continue through the ages, that what you told us then would become our shelter now, and what seemed relative to a certain moment we'd find absolute in time? Even then you spoke of separation and tested our love from far away. In your absence each letter became your arrival, each instructions a divine command. Receiving you in all these ways, your presence came in separation; each new book an eternal reference to your divine self; each lecture to others, our own. Following your words, we lived with you, understanding that though far away you were also near as well. Gradually, as the years went by, we saw you less but knew you more, arriving only at the point that when you left we felt we could go on. Writing us in 1971, you said, "Yes, actually I am present wherever my devotees are engaged in service to Sri Krsna. Also I am never separated from my Guru Maharaja. I feel that he is always watching over me and guiding me."
What was then a momentary reflection now becomes our constant meditation.
Your eternal servants at Paris Temple.
