PARIS FARM
On this most auspicious day of the eighty-third year of the appearance of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, it is our great privilege to place a small token of our appreciation and devotion at the lotus feet of him who is none other than the personification of Godhead, Sri Krsna.
Your Divine Grace has entered into the affairs of the Age of Kali in order to destroy the prevailing ignorance and set the course of humanity for the next ten thousand years. No one can yet appreciate how brightly you literature the lamp of knowledge. You appeared like a full moon through the dense clouds of this age of quarrel and dazed us by your presence. We came to you exhausted, full of distress on the inside and full of false pride on the outside. We could not have gone to anyone else; we had already been through the hands of so many so-called teachers, leaders and philosophers. We were tasting the bitter fruits of frustration. We came to you, attracted by your purity, your utmost simplicity, your honesty and your intimate understanding of the Absolute Truth-qualities which were quickly reflected all over the world in your writings and in your disciples.
In a mere twelve years the face of the world has been transformed. Everywhere signs of the new age of spiritual enlightenment are dawning. The seeds have been planted, the chanting of the holy names is watering everywhere, and you, as a powerful sun, are making everything grow. Faith is reborn, materialistic options are rejected, knowledge is spreading. Peace is entering the hearts of all honest men; humanity like a slumbering giant is slowly coming to its senses again. Signs of hope and joy are everywhere to be seen. How can humanity ever fathom the extent of its debt to you? How can we ever begin to repay you, now that you have gone from our immediate vision as the moon sometimes becomes covered by clouds in the winter season? We lack the vision of faith! We feel like children that have been abandoned by their father. In our helpless condition we prostrate ourselves, and offering our most humble obeisances we pray that you might grant us one last boon: that you, who are always shining brightly within the spiritual world, where you are eternally engaged in unalloyed service to Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha and Krsna, might grant us the sincere desire to fulfill your mission. Let this be our heritage, let it be the purpose of our lives: to carry your words to the ends of this world, to be your servants in preparing for the advent of the holy name-Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. Thus we might be allowed to play an insignificant part in fulfilling Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's prediction that the holy names shall resound in every town and village.
