How is it possible to estimate our good fortune to be disciples of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada? Only by great fortune are we attached to his lotus feet and so are attached to the lotus feet of Krsna. Such attachment is the perfection of our lives. The nature of our guru is described in the Caitanya-caritamrta as follows: "According to the deliberate opinion of all the revealed scriptures, the spiritual master is nondifferent from Krsna. Lord Krsna, in the form of the spiritual master, delivers His disciples."
The International Society for Krsna consciousness is a divine form of Srila Prabhupada in which we have our life and being. Srila Prabhupada's desires give us the impetus to serve Krsna by spreading krsna-katha in every country of the world. His mercy comes as many instructions for our advancement in spiritual life. Everything we possess, including our mind and body, is his property, and we are thankful to him for maintaining our worthless lives. Already Prabhupada has made his plan and shown us by his example how to act, and for our part we can follow him in our own small ways. Prabhupada's words are the potency we have to change the hearts of men, and by the distribution of his words we give him great pleasure. Just like sold-out animals, we find our security and protection only in his service.
Just as a thief sees with great expectation the drowsiness of the watchman and prepares to sneak and take his due, in the same way the witch called Maya is waiting for that single moment when we lose our tight grip-just a little-on his lotus feet. At that very time of deviation, there and then, we shall find ourselves fallen in her kingdom again. Here in the kingdom of Nepal, we disciples of Srila Prabhupada pray that we shall never lose our hold of Prabhupada's lotus feet and that we can always relish the association of our Godbrothers as we try and do his divine will. We pray that we can always hear, with rapt attention, the presence of Prabhupada in his divine books. O Srila Prabhupada! Please be especially merciful to us!!
