om ajnana-timirandhasya jnananjana-salakaya
caksur unmilitam yena tasmai sri-gurave namaḥ

On this most holy day, we, with our tiny and limited ability, attempt to glorify you, whose glories know no limits. You have given us wretched souls so much help and kindness that we may go on serving you eternally, ever indebted to you. The grace which you bestow so compassionately upon everyone is called divine, because it is coming from Krsna. You are the manifestation of Krsna's mercy in the material world, therefore you are known as His Divine Grace.

Who can understand the wonderful characteristics of the pure devotee? When we, your disciples, look upon you, we are simply amazed, our hearts filled with respect and affection for you. Please let us never consider you to be ordinary! Please let us always remember that you do not live in any planet of the material sky, nor do you feel any contact with material elements. Your so-called material body does not exist, being surcharged with the spiritual current of the Lord's identical interest, and thus you are permanently freed from all contaminations of the sum total of the mahat-tattva. You are always in the spiritual sky since you constantly share the transcendental loving association of the Lord.

You have kindly accepted us as your disciples, therefore our only business is now to please you. To please the spiritual master means to receive his blessings. Without the blessings of the pure devotee no one can make spiritual advancement. Once you said that real gratitude toward you is if we simply understand the importance of this Krsna consciousness. In this dark Age of Kali, Krsna consciousness is greatly needed, because millions of people are suffering greatly due to having lost their proper vision. They have forgotten that the living entities are eternally subordinate servants of God. Living under these conditions, how would it be possible for them to become happy? Thus everybody is thinking in the bodily conception of life and remaining like animals. Just like in eastern Europe, where the attempt is systematically made to kill God, the leaders are so afraid of the name "God" that they are very enthusiastic to make all kinds of propaganda against religion. Scientists and professors are writing volumes of books about scientific atheism. Spending millions of dollars, they have built huge arrangements for defense, to make sure that no other idea will obstruct their way. But can there be any hindrance before your sahkirtana movement? Can anyone stop this mission of Lord Caitanya? Despite all security arrangements and propaganda, can anyone remain hidden from your books, which are the illumination of perfection and purity? The words of the pure devotee penetrate all iron curtains of false propaganda. You are the intimate associate of Lord Caitanya, therefore you manifest His sahkirtana-sakti in person. Therefore no society can escape from being flooded with your books. This flood of sahkirtana sweeps away all useless security by which the demons try to avoid surrender to Krsna. The devotees are drowned in this ocean of ecstasy, and the nondevotees are floating. In this way everybody, even the lowborn atheists, get the chance of being delivered. And all this is due to the divine attributes of the pure devotee, as it is confirmed in the Srimad-Bhagavatam:

te vai vidanty atitaranti ca deva-mayam
stri-sūdra-hūna-sabara api papa-jivaḥ
yady adbhuta-krama-parayana-sila-siksas
tiryag-jana api kim u sruta-dharana ye

"Surrendered souls, even from the groups leading sinful lives, such as the woman, the laborer class, the hūnas, the Siberians, etc., or even the birds and beasts, can also know about the science of Godhead and become liberated from the clutches of the illusory energy by surrendering unto the pure devotee of the Lord and by following in his footsteps in devotional service." (Bhag. 2.7.46)

By helping you to spread this sahkirtana movement, we are doing the greatest welfare work. This is the only way to pay back a minute part of our debt to you. However, to perform this service there is need of good qualities. Unfortunately we haven't got any quality about which we could be proud. For anything really valuable we have to ask Your Divine Grace. Thus, we are a lot of beggars only.

O Gurudeva, please shower your rain of mercy upon us! Please give us strength and enthusiasm! Please let us take an eternal part in your sahkirtana movement! Please give us the chance to be with you and serve you wherever you are!
