Preceptors on the Path of Bhakti

vande 'ham sri-guroḥ sri-yuta-pada-kamalam sri-gurūn vaisnavams ca
sri-rūpam sagrajatam saha-gana-raghunathanvitam tam sa-jivam
sadvaitam savadhūtam parijana-sahitam krsna-caitanya-devam
sri-radha-krsna-padan saha-gana-lalita-sri-visakhanvitams ca

[I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of my spiritual master and unto the feet of all Vaisnavas. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of Srila Rūpa Gosvami along with his elder brother Sanatana Gosvami, as well as Raghunatha Dasa and Raghunatha Bhatta, Gopala Bhatta, and Srila Jiva Gosvami. I offer my respectful obeisances to Lord Krsna Caitanya and Lord Nityananda along with Advaita Acarya, Gadadhara, Srivasa, and other associates. I offer my respectful obeisances to Srimati Radharani and Sri Krsna along with Their associates Sri Lalita and Visakha.]

om ajnana-timirandhasya
jnananjana-salakaya
caksur unmilitam yena
tasmai sri-gurave namaḥ

[I offer my respectful obeisances unto my spiritual master who, with the torchlight of knowledge, has opened my eyes, which were blinded by the darkness of ignorance.]

nama om visnu-padaya krsna-presthaya bhū-tale
srimate bhaktisiddhanta-sarasvatiti namine

[I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, who is very dear to Lord Krsna, having taken shelter at His lotus feet.]

sri-varsabhanavi-devi-dayitaya krpabdhaye
krsna-sambandha-vijnana-dayine prabhave namaḥ

[I offer my respectful obeisances to Sri Varsabhanavi-devi-dayita dasa [another name of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati], who is favored by Srimati Radharani and who is the ocean of transcendental mercy and the deliverer of the science of Krsna.]

madhuryojjvala-premaḍhya-sri-rūpanuga-bhaktida-
sri-gaura-karuna-sakti-vigrahaya namo 'stu te

[I offer my respectful obeisances unto you, the personified energy of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's mercy, who delivers devotional service enriched with conjugal love of Sri Sri Radha and Krsna, coming exactly in the line of revelation of Srila Rūpa Gosvami.]

namas te gaura-vani-sri-mūrtaye dina-tarine
rūpanuga-viruddhapasiddhanta-dhvanta-harine

[I offer my respectful obeisances unto you, who are the personified teachings of Lord Caitanya. You are the deliverer of the fallen souls. You do not tolerate any statement against the teachings of devotional service enunciated by Srila Rūpa Gosvami.]

sri-krsna-caitanya prabhu-nityananda
sri-advaita gadadhara srivasadi-gaura-bhakta-vrnda

[I offer my obeisances to Sri Krsna Caitanya, Prabhu Nityananda, Sri Advaita, Gadadhara, Srivasa and all others in the line of devotion.]

sri-krsna-caitanya-prabhu daya kara more,
toma vina ke dayalu jagat-samsare
patita-pavana-hetu tava avatara,
mo sama patita prabhu na paibe ara
[Srila Narottama dasa Thakura]

[My dear Lord, please be merciful to me. Who can be more merciful than Your Lordship within these three worlds? You appear as an incarnation just to reclaim the conditioned, fallen souls, but I assure You that You will not find a soul more fallen than me.]

ha ha prabhu nityananda, premananda sukhi
krpabalokana koro ami boro duḥkhi

[My dear Lord Nityananda, You are always joyful in spiritual bliss. Since You always appear very happy, I have come to You because I am most unhappy. If You kindly put Your glance over me, then I may also become happy.]

doya koro sita-pati adwaita gosai
tava krpa-bale pai caitanya-nitai

[My dear Advaita Prabhu, husband of Sita, You are so kind. Please be merciful to me. If You are kind to me, naturally Lord Caitanya and Nityananda will also be kind to me.]

ha ha swarūp, sanatana, rūpa, raghunatha
bhatta-juga, sri-jiva ha prabhu lokanatha

[O Svarūpa Damodara, personal secretary of Lord Caitanya, O Six Gosvamis; Sri Rupa Gosvami, Sri Sanatana Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha Bhatta Gosvami, Sri Gopala Bhatta Gosvami, Sri Jiva Gosvami, and Sri Raghunatha dasa Gosvami! O Lokanatha Gosvami, my beloved spiritual master! Narottama Dasa also prays for your mercy.]

doya koro sri-acarya prabhu srinivasa
ramacandra-sahga mage narottama-dasa

[O Srinivasa Acarya, successor to the Six Gosvamis! Please be merciful to me. Narottama Dasa always desires the company of Ramacandra Cakravarti.]

he krsna karuna-sindho
dina-bandho jagat-pate
gopesa gopika-kanta
radha-kanta namo 'stu te

[O my dear Krsna, ocean of mercy, You are the friend of the distressed and the source of creation. You are the master of the cowherd men and the lover of the gopis, especially Srimati Radharani. I offer my respectful obeisances unto You.]

tapta-kancana-gaurahgi
radhe vrndavanesvari
vrsabhanu-sute devi
pranamami hari-priye

[I offer my respects to Radharani, whose bodily complexion is like molten gold and who is the Queen of Vrndavana. You are the daughter of King Vrsabhanu, and You are very dear to Lord Krsna.]
