aisvarya-made matta indra,--yena matoyala
buddhi-nasa haila, kevala nahika sambhala
SYNONYMS
aisvarya-madebeing proud of his opulence; mattamaddened; indrathe King of heaven; yenaas if; matoyalaa mad person; buddhi-nasabereft of intelligence; hailabecame; kevalaonly; nahikathere is not; sambhalacaution.
TRANSLATION
"Indra, the King of heaven, being too proud of his heavenly opulences, became like a madman. Thus bereft of his intelligence, he could not restrain himself from speaking nonsensically about Krsna.
