মহৎস্রষ্টা পুরুষ, তিঁহো জগৎ-কারণ ।
আদ্য-অবতার করে মায়ায় ঈক্ষণ ॥ ৫৬ ॥

mahat-srasta-the creator of the total material energy; purusa-the person; tiṅho-He; jagat-karana-the cause of the material cosmic manifestation; adya-original; avatara-incarnation; kare-does; mayaya-over the material energy; iksana-glance.
He is known as the first purusa, the creator of the total material energy. He, the cause of the universes, the first incarnation, casts His glance over maya.
