"By the mercy of the guru even a dumb man can become the greatest orator and even a lame man can cross over mountains."
You tell the story of the wild tiger in the jungle who was harassing the members of an asrama as they travelled to and from the temple on the jungle path. In an attempt to appease the hungry beast, the head of the asrama placed a large bowl of milk out for the tiger each day without fail. As time passed, the satisfied animal, being freed from the anxiety of having to search out his own food, began to think to himself, "Yes, this man loves me," so he could understand the motive of the asrama head and did not bother the devotees any more.
Similarly, each day you give us such beautiful prasada and ask for nothing in return. Surely one day our dull, animallike intelligence will realize, "Yes, this person loves us," and we will serve your lotus feet with grateful enthusiasm.
Krsna and the dhama of Goloka are not our real goal. Just to become your real disciples and to relish your pastimes is the direction given in the Vedas (Padma Purana):
aradhananam sarvesam visnor aradhanam param
tasmat parataram devi tadiyanam samarcanam
tasmat parataram devi tadiyanam samarcanam
Lord Siva tells Parvati that of all types of worship, worship of Visnu is the highest, but higher still is the worship of His devotees.
The light of the Vedas will reveal you to this darkened world; the Hare Krsna movement is but a facet of your character. The Vedas sing your glories and all pure devotees throughout all creation realize your exalted position. Your fame is not to be limited to this small planet, and your power is given by Krsna Himself. Your accepting us as disciples is an obvious display of your causeless mercy.
Let us realize that our position is only through the flow of your unceasing compassion upon us and all souls.
Oh, Srila Prabhupada, give us the strength to bow our heads in the path of your universal march of all beings back to Godhead.
