This material world is a deep dark well
Where everyone gradually is gliding to hell
Where sight, sound, touch, taste and smell
Are our masters so impersonal and cruel.
Where everyone gradually is gliding to hell
Where sight, sound, touch, taste and smell
Are our masters so impersonal and cruel.
You have appeared to give us direction
How to become free from this hellish connection
From material life you are giving us protection
We were drowning in this material pool!
How to become free from this hellish connection
From material life you are giving us protection
We were drowning in this material pool!
Your compassion for us is unflinching and sweet
Where would we be without your lotus feet?
Simply no better than dogs in the street
Looking for shelter somewhere.
Where would we be without your lotus feet?
Simply no better than dogs in the street
Looking for shelter somewhere.
So you have come to show us the way
How to perfect our human life in every way
To approach the goal and never sway
This is your mercy so rare.
How to perfect our human life in every way
To approach the goal and never sway
This is your mercy so rare.
Many are the gurus who come to steal our wealth
They say "give me money, I'll give you better sex and good health'
But rare is that guru who can actually help
Our miserable material condition.
They say "give me money, I'll give you better sex and good health'
But rare is that guru who can actually help
Our miserable material condition.
So many gurus have come and gone
They may juggle some words but what have they done?
Some magic tricks perhaps, but factually no one
Has been found to improve his position.
They may juggle some words but what have they done?
Some magic tricks perhaps, but factually no one
Has been found to improve his position.
But since Your Divine Grace has come to save the West
So many people have by your mercy been blessed
With the strength to conquer Mayadevi's test
And advance in spiritual life.
So many people have by your mercy been blessed
With the strength to conquer Mayadevi's test
And advance in spiritual life.
Certainly no one but you has been so assured
That the diseased condition of the world can be cured
So many troubles for this end you've endured
To save the world from disaster.
That the diseased condition of the world can be cured
So many troubles for this end you've endured
To save the world from disaster.
