Dear Srila Prabhupada:

Srila Prabhupada, we feel that you are our real father because you have given us spiritual birth. The shelter of your lotus feet is protection for us against the hellish existence of material life. By your ideal example and your patient and kind instruction you are teaching us everything. You are teaching us how to eat, how to clean ourselves, how to sleep, how to pass stool, how to dress, and most of all you are teaching us how to love. Srila Prabhupada, we are your children, and it is by your mercy that we exist. You are taking us gently by the hand as helpless babes in the lap of maya and teaching us to walk naturally in Krsna consciousness. It is painful and frustrating for us, and we fall down, but you help us up with encouraging words. Prabhupada, we are afraid that if you take away your helping hand now we will simply fall on our faces and not be able to get up. Please do not leave us like this!

Actually, we can understand that the relationship with the spiritual master is eternal and that he is always with his sincere disciple whether he remains on this earthly plane or not. The spiritual master lives not in a body but in his instructions. No one can say, Prabhupada, that you have not given us in your books all the instructions necessary for us to go back to home, back to Godhead. Prabhupada, we pray that we can somehow grow up and mature quickly so that we can follow these instructions without being such a burden to you!
