Please accept our most humble obeisances. One hundred eight glories to the topmost wandering mendicant and swanlike devotee of the Lord, Your Divine Grace.

vancha-kalpatarubhyas ca
krpa-sindhubhya eva ca
patitanam pavanebhyo
vaisnavebhyo namo namaḥ

"I offer my respectful obeisances unto all the Vaisnava devotees of the Lord, who can fulfill all the desires of everyone, just like desire trees, and who are full compassion for the fallen souls."

You have kindly come to these Western shores, which are overburdened with materialism, voidism, and impersonalism. Out of your never-ending compassion for our fallen position, you are delivering krsna-prema-love of God-thus replacing our attachment to the frailties of this material world with love of Krsna. Truly, you are that desire tree because you have fulfilled all our material hankerings by giving us Krsna. You are the most munificent; because of your patience and determination you have tolerated so much on our behalf. We are even indebted to Your Divine Grace.

jnananjana-salakaya
caksur unmilitam yena
tasmai sri-gurave namaḥ

"I, who am standing in darkness, do humbly offer my respectful obeisances to my spiritual master, who is forcing my eyes open with the blazing torchlight of knowledge."

Forcing our eyes is your kindness upon conditioned souls like us. Because of our wandering in the realms of ignorance for millions of births, we are very reluctant, if not stubborn, to accept the reality of your instructions. But, this devotional service is so powerfully pure that our stoneheartedness is melting away. Just by your association, we are becoming ever-enlivened to serve Their eternal Lordships, Radha and Krsna.
