Please accept our prostrated obeisances at your lotus feet. By your grace we can see again. There are many fools and rascals who pose themselves as men of science, but know not who they are nor what their relationship with God is. By definition, knowledge is information gathered from scripture, and science is the practical application of that knowledge under the guidance of a bona fide spiritual master. Since there are so many pretenders today, we always glorify you as a bona fide guru, and in our preaching work explain your relationship with Lord Krsna. Any sane man will accept you as the representative of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and take shelter of your lotus feet. We can conclude, therefore, that those who fail to be attracted to Krsna after hearing you chant the glories of the Lord in pure devotion, are not sincere seekers of truth.

The Lord knows our heart's innermost desires, and thus He sends His representative for those who are serious about self-realization, with the invitation to come back home. Just as the sunrise is self-evident, knowing you to be the confidential servitor of the Lord is simple to see. But there are those who, like the owl who sleeps in the daytime, don't look for truth in this human form of life, and thus become animals or lower in their next birth. They are unfortunate. We are like unto such fools. But somehow or other we are begging to surrender unto Your Divine Grace and learn the science of God. This submission, we can understand, is the proper use of our minute independence.

God is one, and the guru is in complete union and agreement with God. Our beloved Guru-Maharaja does not manufacture God or give his own ideas about the Lord's will. Instead he is qualified to speak on behalf of the Krsna without any adulteration. It is to be understood that when the spiritual master is speaking, the Lord is speaking through him. How can one who doesn't know Krsna (His form, qualities, pastimes, etc.) claim to be a spiritual master? There is no question in our minds, or doubt in our hearts, that you, Srila Prabhupada, are the jagad-guru. Our reluctance to fully surrender is simply due to our past conditioning. Now that you have liberated us from illusion's call, and satisfied us with the perfect and complete philosophy if the Vedas, let us cling tightly to your lotus feet, leaving no chance of ever forgetting Krsna again.

It is not possible to express our gratitude on words, nor can we repay you by any amount of service. We can simply give you our hearts and souls. Now you can do with us as you like, eternally. We are praying to Krsna that we may not offend you. We wish to never withdraw from your shelter. Please forgive our offenses and bless us with Krsna consciousness.

You are our only hope. Please bring us back to Godhead. This is our humble prayer.
