Dear Srila Prabhupada,

We were sleeping in the night of ignorance, and you came to awaken us to the reality of our true existence. Busy at so many shadow roles, we never understood who we were, blinded by the cloud of material enjoyment, imprisoned in maya's alien atmosphere. But your potent words pierced through the darkness of illusion, and we have now been delivered. Thus in a light of your purity, we could catch a glimpse of the realm which we now know to be Vrndavana, the abode of unalloyed love, the land of cintamani where absolute knowledge and bliss manifest eternally.

Like the father who brings back home his disobedient children gone astray, you are bringing us back to our spiritual health and sanity, and inspiring us with the desire to enter into the eternal loving service of Krsna. You are showering us with the most priceless gift of pure devotional service. With no means of measuring or fulfilling our debt to you, we still beg to be accepted as your menial maidservants.

As your own desire is to serve the desire of your eternal father, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, to preach the message of Sri Caitanya in the West, we also pray to make your desire ours; thus our life will know perfection, by serving the perfect preceptor. You are the emblem of all knowledge; you are the effulgent mahatma who can awaken within the hearts of even the most degraded yavanas and mlecchas attraction for devotional service. You are the embodiment of all perfection. We derive great pleasure in remembering your ambrosial body, always decorated with gracious motions. Looking at your form and hearing your words are the perfection of life because they are direct manifestations of Sri Krsna. The scriptures describe that the pure devotee is always meditating on the Lord and the Lord is also constantly thinking of His unalloyed devotee. We also pray at your lotus feet to be graced with constant remembrance of your instructions, nondifferent from you, and thus engage ourselves wholeheartedly in spreading the glories of Sri Krsna Caitanya wherever has not been heard your magnanimous name.
