O divine spiritual master, to even momentarily reflect upon our lives before your presence is a most torturous and frightening experience. The Age of Kali is taking its course with meat-eating, illicit sex life, gambling, and intoxication reaching ever-new heights. Being so much in progress, it was obvious that all religious principles had been lost, leaving only darkness in their path. Taking advantage of this situation, so many bogus spiritual leaders were coming forward like glowworms, but because of the dense darkness they appeared to be somewhat luminous and were able to cheat many innocent people. Then by your causeless mercy, you rose like the shining full moon from the east and exposed all those rascals. Not only did you expose the bogus gurus but you also exposed the scientists, teachers, doctors, politicians, philosophers and even our own insincere rascal selves. But unlike someone who simply comes forward to point out fault and criticize, you came to administer your shining mercy to everyone and make arrangements for all of them to understand the Absolute Truth and go back home, back to Godhead.
Now, Srila Prabhupada, that you have externally left us, we have actually witnessed your unlimited mercy become even more unlimited. Not only have you remained with us in all of your teachings and your Deity form, but now you have further expanded yourself through your many disciples to continue your inconceivable plan of delivering every living entity back to Krsna in the spiritual world. Now we are truly able to understand the purport of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura's poem:
He reasons ill who tells that Vaisnavas die
when thou art living still in sound!
The Vaisnavas die to live, and living try
to spread the holy name around.
