Most dear Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept our humble obeisances in the sanctified dust of your lotus feet. We pray for your infinite mercy because you are everything to us. You are the only solution to the miserable cycle of repeated birth and death.
What can I say to glorify you? What can I do to serve you, to please you? I feel myself to be so small, of so little importance. I hold the pen, wanting to write beautiful words to praise you, to describe your unlimited qualities, and instead hours pass as I remain seated, thinking, and what I am finally able to write seems so insignificant. I want to know how to write the most beautiful poetry to glorify you appropriately, but I find that I am so uselessly dull. Although the Vedic scriptures sing of your character, and your glories are known all over the three worlds, I am so unqualified that I don't have enough intelligence to properly praise you.
You have everything. What can a conditioned soul like myself offer to you, who one should worship as equal to Bhagavan, Krsna? You are His dearest servant and therefore the very manifestation of His mercy, adored by so many disciples in all parts of the world, loved by so many friends, and appreciated and admired by so many scientific and intellectual men. In this way you have constantly shown us how to become Krsna conscious. If I could attract your attention if only for a second, I would feel completely satisfied. Therefore, I pray to Lord Krsna that he give me the intelligence to be able to satisfy you. I do not ask this to be able to gain riches, beautiful women, or a great number of followers, but only to have the capacity to serve you. If I am unable to satisfy your desire, then I will have the opportunity to return back home, back to Godhead. Yasya prasadad bhagavat-prasado yasyaprasadan na gatiḥ kuto 'pi. Therefore, I pray today, and always, in order to have the necessary intelligence to be able to serve you day after day, year after year, birth after birth.
