"Our respectful obeisances are unto you, O spiritual master, servant of Sarasvati Gosvami, you are kindly preaching the message of Lord Caitanyadeva and delivering the western countries, which are filled with impersonalism and voidism.

By Krsna's causeless mercy, a conditioned soul meets guru. By guru's mercy one can reach Krsna.

yasya prasadad bhagavat-prasado
yasyaprasadan na gatiḥ kuto 'pi
dhyayam stuvams tasya yasas tri-sandhyam
vande guroḥ sri-caranaravindam

"By the mercy of the spiritual master one receives the benediction of Krsna. Without the grace of the spiritual master no one can make any advancement. Therefore, I should always remember and praise the spiritual master. At least three times a day, I should offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of my spiritual master." (Gurv-astaka, 8)

You are showering us all with your mercy-Krsna's mercy-opening our eyes with the torch of knowledge. The truth which you are giving us is as brilliant as the sun lighting up the darkness of our minds and cleansing our hearts of all sinful desires. When the sun rises, the light of the glowworms disappears. Similarly, the Absolute Truth which you are giving completely destroys all the speculative and nonsense philosophies of this mundane world. You are fulfilling the desires of your spiritual master, His Divine Grace Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, by spreading these teaching in the western countries, by flooding all the continents with love for Krsna, and by finding ways to get Krsna into everyone's home.

You are fulfilling the prediction of Lord Caitanya that the holy names of Krsna would be heard in every town and village. You are the most dear to Lord Krsna because you are preaching the message of Bhagavad-gita As It Is, which alone can save the dreaming philosophers' polluted minds.

You are fulfilling the desire of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura that from all over the world bhaktas would come to the holiest spot, Sridhama Mayapura, to chant the glories of the most munificent incarnation of Godhead, Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, on His appearance day.

All the millions of people born in India were ordered by Lord Caitanya to preach the holy name. Only you are doing this. You have completely taken shelter of your spiritual master's instructions. Our only hope is to take shelter of your instructions.

Everyone in this world is a slave to maya, chained by lust, anger and greed and surrendered to sinful activities. Your love for your spiritual master and Krsna has saved us from this prison house. Everyone in this material world is sinking in the quicksand of illusion, but you are standing on firm ground, rescuing all who hold on to you by following your instructions. Everywhere you go becomes a holy spot, a place of pilgrimage, but being such crows, we had no desire to go to the places of the swans. Krsna tells us: "just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master." Krsna instructs Arjuna in the Karma-yoga Chapter, verse 29:

prakrter guna-sammūḍhaḥ
sajjante guna-karmasu
tan akrtsna-vido mandan
krtsna-vin na vicalayet

"Bewildered by the modes of material nature, the ignorant fully engage themselves in material activities and become attached. But the wise should not unsettle them, although these duties are inferior due to the performer's lack of knowledge."

But you, Srila Prabhupada, are kinder than the Lord Himself because you have come to deliver Krsna to even snakes like us. Somehow or other, even the lowest of creatures can be delivered by your mercy. If only we can follow your instructions and please you. This is our only hope.

You are so great that, on behalf of Lord Caitanya, you are accepting so many disciples born of low-class, meat-eating families. No other spiritual master would do this. You are the only spiritual master today; there is no one else who can give the soul protection, who can wake the soul from his deep sleep. Despite so many difficulties and disturbances caused by our inability to follow your instructions, you still kindly offer us the shelter of your lotus feet, asking us to please chant Hare Krsna. You are giving such an easy process to develop love of Krsna. If only we would have as much faith in you as you have in your spiritual master. Then we would be able to help you spread love of God.

You are teaching us just as a loving father teaches his children to behave. Somehow tolerating our foolishness, you are patiently teaching us to chant the holy names without offense. In this Kali-yuga, that is the only process to lead one to love of Godhead, which alone can satisfy the burning desires of the soul. You are greater than the Ganges River, which sanctifies after prolonged use, because just a moment's association with you is far, far more effective. You are an ocean of mercy, you are the bona fide representative of Srila Vyasa; you are our only shelter; you are the dearmost friend of Lord Krsna in this world; you are the Lord's most confidential servitor. Only by following your instructions can we be saved.
