The living entity is an eternal servant of Krsna. He is originally situated in the spiritual world, where he enjoys an ever-increasing blissful rasa with the all-attractive Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna. That transcendental world is known as cintamani dhama and is far beyond the range of material vision. In the distant abode there are gardens of desire trees and palaces built of rubies. There the gates and archways are inscribed with pictures fashioned from spiritual gems. These jewels are so lustrous that they compete with the effulgence of ten million suns. Yet even more radiant than this is the primeval Lord Himself, Govinda, who is tending the cows, whose blooming eyes are like lotus petals, whose head is bedecked with a peacock feather, and whose unique loveliness charms millions of Cupids.
Since the living entity is awarded some minute independence, he may foolishly choose to abandon such blissful association in the spiritual world, thus condemning himself to accept a material body. Now he associates with the modes of material nature and becomes disillusioned. He proclaims himself the enjoyer and controller of all he surveys, but ironically, he is only its servant. Despite his hankering for enjoyment, he is frustrated at every step. Although probing for some new and hidden pleasure, the embodied being is merely chewing the chewed. He creates one illusory goal after another in a vain attempt to find peace and happiness. He becomes addicted to sense gratification and is forced to act in abominable ways to gratify the increasingly demanding senses. As he degrades himself, he falls down to hell and succumbs to the ever more powerful grip of maya's illusion. Thus he helplessly remains burning in the blazing fire of material existence, life after life ….

"The spiritual master is receiving benediction from the ocean of mercy. Just as a cloud pours water on a forest fire to extinguish it, so the spiritual master deliver the materially afflicted world by extinguishing the blazing fire of material existence. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master, who is an ocean of auspicious qualities."
Dear Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept our prostrated obeisances at the dust of your lotus feet. We are making some humble attempt to please and to honor you by this Vyasa-pūja presentation, but how can we glorify you? What can be said of one who has given us liberation, who is returning us to the lotus feet of Sri Krsna?
By your own causeless mercy, you have appeared just to deliver such unfortunate conditioned souls as ourselves. Hard as a thunderbolt, your challenge has ignited the spark that is kindling a revolution in the impious lives of the world's misdirected civilization. Soft as a rose, your compassionate words, more comforting than the soothing beams of the moon, relieve us from the fearful condition of material existence. Without a doubt, you are bringing us back to home, back to Godhead, by guiding us to our eternal rasa.
O Gurudeva, our only lamentation is that even while speaking these words we are not fully surrendering and are not fully appreciating your unlimited transcendental qualities. If we may ask some blessing, kindly free us from the thorny forest of material enjoyment. Please allow us to take this sahkirtana movement as our life and soul, in full knowledge of its dearness to you. Please give us the inspiration and the intelligence to preach its glories around the world, thus giving your blessings to others and making them fortunate.
Srila Prabhupada, we will never forget the bitter anguish, the sadness of material existence. Therefore, we are all the more indebted to you as our eternal shelter. Although we are now feeling the burden of separation from your physical presence, by following your divine instructions our understanding of your transcendental personality, our love for you and realization of our eternal relationship with you all expand at every moment.
We are simply beggars for your mercy; therefore, being beggars, what can we offer you? Srila Prabhupada, please accept our humble service.
