Ann Arbor
Dear Srila Prabhupada,
As a dwarf reaching for the moon or a candle trying to find out the sun, due to our conditioned nature we can barely ascertain and appreciate your sublime and exalted position.
But one thing we can understand is that had you not so kindly appeared before us we would have only this repeated holocaust of broken dreams and empty aspirations known as the material world as our future.
You are wisdom personified, the embodiment of compassion. Your words are the only standard of truth. By contact with a bona fide spiritual master one should come to know all things, both phenomenal and noumenal, and when listening to you this actually becomes a fact.
You have said that the path of bhakti is like nectar and it holds whatever one desires, and the way to take it is simply to follow. Karmis say "dogs run free so why can't we?" but you have pointed out that even enjoyable dog's life depends on a good master. Everyone is serving something or someone, but you, Srila Prabhupada, are the best master. Please benedict us that we may eternally follow and serve you faithfully.
