I beg to offer my most respectful danḍavats unto the lotus feet of my spiritual master, Om Visnupada Paramahamsa Parivrajakacarya Astottara-sata Sri-Srimad A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. You are the genuine representative of Srila Vyasadeva, and therefore entitled to receive offerings from your disciples every year. You are the most faithful and confidential servitor of the Lord and therefore deserve as much respect as Lord Krsna. In the Caitanya-caritamrta it is said that although every living entity is a servitor of God, the genuine spiritual master is a direct manifestation of the Supreme Lord. For a disciple to advance spiritually, he must be convinced of this.
In Srimad-Bhagavatam, Lord Krsna tells Uddhava:
acaryam mam vijaniyan navamayeta karhicit
na martya-buddyasūyeta sarva-devamaya guruḥ
na martya-buddyasūyeta sarva-devamaya guruḥ
"One should know the acarya as Myself and never disrespect him in any way. One should not envy him, thinking him an ordinary man, for he is the representative of all the demigods." (Bhag. 11.17.27) Here Lord Krsna specially instructing how a disciple should behave under the care of his spiritual master. A spiritual master is not an enjoyer of facilities offered by his disciples; rather, he is like a parent. Just like a child cannot grow up without the attentive guidance of his parents, one cannot learn to perform devotional service without the attentive guidance of the spiritual master. The ability to walk is born with a baby, and within a couple of years the child develops it with practice. Similarly, Krsna consciousness is eternally present within the conditioned soul but can only be realized when guided by a true representative of Lord Krsna.
The Supreme Lord is so kind that He appears in two features to save the conditioned soul-externally as the acarya and internally as the Supersoul. You have appeared just to deliver the fallen mlecchas. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupada used to say, "If at all there is a shortage of anything, it is of love of God." The modern raksasa leaders are denying God's existence and thus misleading the human population. You took your spiritual master's instruction to spread Krsna consciousness seriously, and therefore you are so successful. It is essential that a disciple follow his spiritual master's instructions rigidly. You are a true tattva-darsi, or knower of the absolute truth, and therefore always anxious to preach. Even in your present illness, I see that you do not miss any opportunity to talk of Lord Krsna. You are a great Vaisnava, Srila Prabhupada. You are always trying to save the suffering humanity by giving them the supreme knowledge. You will always live by your divine instructions. On this auspicious day, I pray that I will always follow your instructions and help spread Lord Caitanya's message. Only this will please you; nothing else will.
