I offer my most prostrate obeisances unto the lotus feet of my beloved spiritual preceptor, Srila Prabhupada, and pray to Lord Krsna that at any hour of the day or night I may be found gathering up the dust of Srila Prabhupada's lotus feet in a mood of loving devotion. Actually that is the proper mood of the disciple in his relationship with his spiritual master. Krsna and Krsna's devotee are one. Just like the viceroy of India and the king of England. As the representative of the king, the viceroy was considered to have all the potencies of the king. He was empowered by the king to accept all offerings and tributes which were given by the subjects of India. When they offered a gift to the viceroy, it was considered offered to the king. Similarly Krsna's representative, Srila Prabhupada, when we offer our service, wretched as it may be, unto his lotus feet, when he accepts it, it is understood he is accepting it for Krsna. He is empowered by Krsna. The same mood with which we make an offering to Krsna should also be there in an offering to Srila Prabhupada:
tesam satata-yuktanam bhajatam priti-pūrvakam
dadami buddhi-yogam tam yena mam upayanti te
dadami buddhi-yogam tam yena mam upayanti te
"To those who are constantly devoted and worship Me with love, I give them the understanding by which they can come to Me." (Bg. 10.10)
That same instruction in Gita of Krsna holds true for Srila Prabhupada. Those of us, his disciples who can develop a constant flow of devotional service with a loving attitude offered at his divine lotus feet, to those disciples, Srila Prabhupada from within their hearts will give the knowledge by which they can come to him. Actually Srila Prabhupada is already with each of us. That is the beauty of transcendental life, that it is not bound in or limited by any mundane conception of time and space, but the relationship between Srila Prabhupada and his disciples is free from any inebrities or mundane conceptions. As we lend our minds to the spirit of Srila Prabhupada's instructions, immediately his presence can be felt.
This Vyasa-pūja time is the opportunity for all of us to glorify Srila Prabhupada and his activities, and the best representation of Srila Prabhupada is that we follow his instructions, that we become pure devotees of Lord Krsna. Srila Prabhupada once said you can tell the guru by his disciples. So if we want Srila Prabhupada to be actually, truly honored all over the world, then it is our duty, our heartfelt obligation, to become one-hundred-percent pure, and in this way Srila Prabhupada's potency, Srila Prabhupada's love, Srila Prabhupada's instructions will be felt all over the world, and the entire world will make great strides toward returning back home, back to Krsna, back to the lotus feet of His Divine Grace.
