Bhagavān dāsa adhikārī

Beloved Gurudeva, I place myself before you,
in hopes that you can salvage something from my wasted life.

Due to sense gratification, I have lost all good qualities,
and now I am simply left trying to maintain my false pride.

O Gurudeva, you are like the sun which can purify the most
untouchable thing and still remain unaffected;
therefore you have allowed me to have the mercy of your darsana.

Except for your mercy only the terrible reactions to my sinful
life would await me,
like a hungry wolf.

Please mold me as you will and forgive my struggles to resist you;
I am low in intelligence and full of pride.

And you have stunned the whole world by teaching us how to live
without sinful activity and fruitive work.

As the insignificant crab becomes fearless when taking shelter of the vast ocean;
You have showed us that the secret of fearlessness is in taking shelter of Krsna's holy name.
From you comes the strength to execute Krsna consciousness.

You have placed us in palaces and fed us with the finest foods;
You have made us famous to the world, although we had been merged
in an ocean of insignificant faces;
You have given us the highest knowledge with which even a child
can challenge a great philosopher;

You have removed the depression from our eyes, the rags
from our bodies and the dirt from our minds;
Cleansing us within and without, you have created effulgent,
moonlike faces where before there was only wasteland.

O Gurudeva, you have given us the chance to again share in the
opulence of our Father;
Please protect us and keep us from becoming mice again,
by losing sight that:
You are our Lord and Master;
You are the creator and maintainer of our fortune;
And it is only you who are keeping us from being devoured by
the material energy, our enemies and our egos.

All glories to the embodiment of glory-Srila Prabhupada;
You have picked us up from the rejected class;
And in full ecstasy are taking us back home, back to Godhead.
