Dearest Srila Prabhupada,

In attempting from our fallen position, we the devotees of the Boston temple wish to make an offering of our praise to you, in hopes you will kindly accept it. There are now twenty-five devotees here, five of whom are initiated. We think it best if we just tell you of our activities on your behalf. We are now performing all-day sahkirtana by traveling each day to a different city in the New England area and in this way trying to distribute sahkirtana benediction to as many people as possible. We are distributing about 300 Back to Godheads daily in this way. As for our temple schedule, we are rigidly following attendance at mahgala-aratrika, japa, classes and evening classes also, as per your order. Every Sunday at noon we go before the Deities of Radha and Krsna, who are most beautiful, and we report to them what we have done in your service. We are understanding that devotional service to the Lord is only through the bona fide spiritual master. We have a radio show on in Boston every Wednesday night at 7 P.M., and we do it by acting out plays for voices and sound effects from the Krsna Book. We hope your Divine Grace will have time to listen when we send you a tape of one of our recent shows, the stealing of the cows by Lord Brahma.

Now we have heard that you are going to come to Boston to personally install the Deities, and we are too much happy. Please bless us with the increased desire to serve you always, 24 hours in each day.

Since most of the devotees here are uninitiated, we want to beg you to accept us as your disciples. We submit ourselves to you and pray that we may be able to assist you in your service to Sri Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. We understand from your books and instructions from your initiated disciples that the spiritual master is the special favor of the Supreme Lord, without whom one is condemned to remain rotting in the material world, to suffer repeated birth, death, disease and old age. We already regard you as our savior. Although we are all-initiated and uninitiated-neophytes, we have already tasted the nectar of transcendental life by chanting the Hare Krsna mantra, and that one drop of nectar has been enough, so that we have left behind all material engagements for your devotional service.

In order to take initiation, we understand that we should accept the word of the spiritual master as Absolute Truth, as good as God, and on the evidence of all authority and from our own hearts, each of us promises to follow you in that way. If we cannot make your order our life and soul, then we will face a fate worse than death-we will not attain the perfection of favorable, transcendental service to Krsna. Without you there is no hope. By following the regulative principles and cooperating amongst ourselves we desire to be good servitors, and by our example we know that our spiritual family members will increase. We know already that we are on the best path for self-realization, purification, happiness and transcendental knowledge. We can understand that in this Age of Quarrel and Hypocrisy the atmosphere is corrupted with many bogus teachers; but we know that you are providing the expert and bona fide captain of the ship to take this human life across the ocean of birth and death. Please keep us engaged in your service eternally.
