Madhusūdana Dasa
Srila Prabhupada, Mercy Incarnation of the Lord
If one gets the opportunity of hearing, serving or associating with a bona fide spiritual master, a pure devotee, one should know that he is getting the direct mercy and blessing of the Supreme Lord Himself. In this world, at this time, we are so, so fallen that it even takes time to realize our low position, but due to the all-powerful and antiseptic nature of Krsna, even a dirt such as myself can be cleaned up by His contact, of this there is no doubt. Just as the all-powerful pure sun evaporates the puddle or urine and purifies the spot and yet does not become dirty itself in the least.
It is for sure that given some time the chanting of Hare Krsna, the method of contacting the Supreme pure will awaken everyone to the natural, blissful condition of loving service to God. This is the only pleasure that exists and all other so-called pleasure is just different degrees of pain. The only sources of transcendental pleasure are the pure devotees like the divine, sweet reservoir of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada-the lotus feet of whom are much more illuminating than a thousand suns. Serving the spiritual master is the most palatable process of self-realization or spiritual life. And it is so effective that simply by taking it, experimenting like a true scientist to see if it works at all, one can feel the uncommon ecstasy of transcendental service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
My Dear Prabhupada, I am thinking that I should cooperate with your disciples and make the whole world surrender at your lotus feet, you who are infallibly fixed at the lotus feet of Sri Krsna.
I cannot possibly ask you for anything. You have given me much more than I could ever deserve even if I performed millions of years of penances and austerities.
You have given us the unlimited ocean of transcendental nectar-devotional service. It is nice to know that this service is open eternally and also your association. Please accept the most humble obeisances of this worthless servant at your lotus feet.
I remain you loving son,
Madhusūdana Dasa
