Lalit Kumāra Dāsa Adhikārī
Lalit Kumara Dasa Adhikari
All glories to Srila Prabhupada,
I have been bitten by maya, the deadly snake whose fangs of lust and greed have kept me for countless lives in an almost unconscious state of existence. And the deadly venom caters to my foolish mind, only because of my weakness and lack of faith. And you, O dearest spiritual master, have come as a dark rain cloud, full of the ocean of knowledge, to extinguish the blazing fire of material existence and reinstate us in loving devotion to our beloved Lord. But so weak, bewildered and unfortunate I am that I just can't seem to get myself to really execute my devotional service to you as wholeheartedly and sincerely as I should. O master of lave and devotion, I am praying for you to help me, but I am a worthless, useless, puffed up pile of stool, and I need your guidance and help so badly. But I am so low that I don't even give you a chance. If there is anyone as fallen and deluded as I am, then you can surely help him first, but I assure you there is no one who is as fallen as I, nor will there ever be one at any time.
On this most auspicious and glorious day when all your disciples offer their deepest and most respectful obeisances to you and pray for your good health and guidance, I can but only hope that someday my devotion will be as steady and pure as that of your wonderful disciples.
All glories to you, the representative of Srila Vyasadeva and kind master of all.
