vasudeve bhagavati
tad-bhaktesu ca sadhusu
prapto bhavam param visvam
yenedam lostravat smrtam
SYNONYMS
vasudeveunto the all-pervading Supreme Personality; bhagavatiunto the Supreme Personality of Godhead; tat-bhaktesuunto His devotees; caalso; sadhusuunto the saintly persons; praptahone who has achieved; bhavamreverence and devotion; paramtranscendental; visvamthe whole material universe; yenaby which (spiritual consciousness); idamthis; lostra-vatas insignificant as a piece of stone; smrtamis accepted (by such devotees).
TRANSLATION
Maharaja Ambarisa was a great devotee of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vasudeva, and of the saintly persons who are the Lords devotees. Because of this devotion, he thought of the entire universe as being as insignificant as a piece of stone.
