त्रिभानुस्तत्सुतो ऽस्यापि करन्धम उदारधीः ।
मरुतस्तत्सुतो ऽपुत्रः पुत्रं पौरवमन्वभूत् ॥ १७ ॥ tribhanus tat-suto 'syapi
karandhama udara-dhiḥ
marutas tat-suto 'putraḥ
putram pauravam anvabhūt
tribhanuḥ-Tribhanu; tat-sutaḥ-the son of Bhanuman; asya-of him (Tribhanu); api-also; karandhamaḥ-Karandhama; udara-dhiḥ-who was very magnanimous; marutaḥ-Maruta; tat-sutaḥ-the son of Karandhama; aputraḥ-being without issue; putram-as his son; pauravam-a son of the Pūru dynasty, Maharaja Dusmanta; anvabhūt-adopted.
TRANSLATION
The son of Bhanuman was Tribhanu, and his son was the magnanimous Karandhama. Karandhama's son was Maruta, who had no sons and who therefore adopted a son of the Pūru dynasty [Maharaja Dusmanta] as his own.
