tatah samudra udvelah
sarvatah plavayan mahim
vardhamano maha-meghair
varsadbhih samadrsyata
SYNONYMS
tatah—thereafter; samudrah—the ocean; udvelah—overflowing; sarvatah—everywhere; plavayan—inundating; mahim—the earth; vardhamanah—increasing more and more; maha-meghaih—by gigantic clouds; varsadbhih—incessantly pouring rain; samadrsyata—King Satyavrata saw it.
TRANSLATION
Thereafter, gigantic clouds pouring incessant water swelled the ocean more and more. Thus the ocean began to overflow onto the land and inundate the entire world.
