Preaching in Vṛndāvana

On June 2, at 6:00 a.m. Srila Prabhupada told me, "You have everything-books, money, men-so show that our movement is scientific. Make a movie to show that there is a superior energy, and that without spirit this material energy has no value. Also, hold conferences in Bombay and in all major cities around the world. Do it! I have trained you for all this."

On June 4, at 5:00 am, Srila Prabhupada instructed me, "Start a revolution. Hold conferences everywhere. Transform the godless society."

On June 5, at 3:00 am Srila Prabhupada called me to come to the roof of the Vrndavana guesthouse. When I arrived, I saw Prabhupada sitting and Satadhanya Maharaja was massaging his head. Srila Prabhupada started instructing me about the Bhaktivedanta Institute.

"The Bhaktivedanta Institute should be based on Bhagavad-gita. We have to prove that for the solution to economic problems agriculture and cow protection are the topmost programs-not industry. For all aspects of society-religion, economics, politics etc., the foundation is Bhagavad-gita."

On June 19, 1977 around noontime Tamal Krsna Maharaja came in with the latest Sankirtana Newsletter and read it aloud to Prabhupada. Prabhupada was extremely pleased and remarked with wide open eyes, "As long as book distribution goes on, I'll never die; I'll live forever." Then he turned to me and said, "You have to distribute your publications to the scientists."

At 8:00 o'clock in the evening on June 21 Srila Prabhupada called me. "All religions of the world," he said, "have some conception of God, but none of them has any idea about the personal character of God. Write books and show that God is a person."

By end of June 1977, I wanted to leave for the US to prepare for the conference. We were planning to prepare three monographs before the conference. I was to write 'What is Life? What is Matter?' Sadaputa was writing "Proof by information theory that life cannot arise from chemicals" and "Consciousness and the Laws of Nature". I told Srila Prabhupada that these three booklets would be ready before the conference. When Tamal Krsna Maharaja heard about my leaving Vrndavana he suggested that I should not go because Srila Prabhupada was always talking to me about science preaching. "In these last days," he said, "Srila Prabhupada speaks to me more than anyone else."
