But you could not do anything. Just ate and slept. So much money wasted. I gave one time five thousand, one time ten thousand, I gave to your mother twenty-five thousand. Also I financed…] Where is the money? We cannot put fire in the flesh.
Prabhupada: [Transl. It will destroy everything. Better than that, if possible live comfortably, you are a son of a Vaisnava. Become a Vaisnava and chant the holy name of Hari. No need to worry about food and shelter. Live happily. Srila Prabhupada's picture is there, render service, offer him bhoga and take prasada. And try to run the small shop. That is enough. You haven't got to worry about food and shelter so what is the need of doing such a big business and waste so much money? You have lost already fifty thousand. It would have been better if you would have gone to the bank. There is no record of any transaction.]

Prabhupada: [Transl. Forget that completely.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Just eat and live. What is the need to do business?]

Kaviraja: [Transl. This morning at about 4.30 a.m. I had a dream that he is getting better. [Prabhupada coughing] Is this coming from today? It's mucus. Such mucus is produced from Horlicks, milk etc. and it blocks the throat. Has such coughing started today?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. When one is weak, when one's fire of digestion is not strong, any disease will capture anytime.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Another cause for coughing is the weakness of the lungs. It gets affected quickly. By taking anything cold or drinking milk, may be milk is not suitable for him.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Do one thing. You have barley, so along with barley give less quantity like one spoon or two spoons]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Not Horlicks. Milk.]
Kaviraja [Transl. In this age of life, after the age of seventy, vardhakye vardhamanena vayu na rasya slesamat a person becomes more and more afflicted by mucus and air. That is natural.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. If the right lung is underneath the body a person coughs more. If one lays down on his left he remains peaceful.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. I will prepare the medicine by evening so that everything will come under control.]
Prabhupada: About that distilling machine? I have told Tamala.
Prabhupada: Hun.
Prabhupada: [Transl. I will eat something.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Little something. Yesterday I ate Lauki.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes, Little you can give. That I can arrange. You can mix it with medicine so that there will be no mucus.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. If you give him smaller amount he will feel hungry and he can take more often. And that way it will be digested.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. How will I know?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. I am sure Sastriji knows Bengali.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. I have many Bengali patients in Calcutta. I can not write, I hear and I understand. I can speak little.]

Kaviraja: [Transl. Now they have made another arrangement. Today I will arrange for the ark and it will be dispatched tomorrow.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. The first medicine was that of suṅth and narakachura. One is small and one is large. I told you to grind more. Didn't I? Bigone is white. Bring here both I will show you. The swelling in the eyes, According to Caraka-tatrame puratod kleda sroto pandaksa ... When enough fluid is not produced then there is swelling in the eyes. The swelling in the hands is also less because the skin hangs down. Now medicines will go on 24 hours a day. As medicines will go in his body, in about four days time the swelling will subside.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Did you put honey already? Oh, honey is already mixed. Then we have to give him as it is.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. He recited one sloka in that he says mucus blocks the throat. Actually that is not the blockage of the throat because he does not have that much mucus. Only when he caughs and tries to take out the mucus, does his throat become blocked. He chanted one sloka, he might have remembered something.]

Prabhupada: [Transl. Our temple in Calcutta.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. No. In Calcutta.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. In Albert Road.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. I go there every day. I didn't know before. Now I will visit. You have got so many temples. In Bombay…]
Prabhupada: [Transl. We have got 108 temples.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Just see. There are 108 beads in a Japa bead, and in the same way you have got 108 temples. The number will increase more and more. In ten or twelve years the number will reach more than thousand. This is the best form of preaching. The purpose for which you have started this movement is very powerful and it is the highest remedy for the suffering people of the whole world.]
Prabhupada: Bhavausadhi
Kaviraja: [Transl. Bhavausadhi. I visit about sixteen or seventeen millionaires, but I see that none of them is peaceful. Everybody is disturbed. They are burning like a blazing fire.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. You are very right. Great personalities like Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Ramanujacarya, Saṅkaracarya were sent for preaching work. There is no doubt that you are also empowered by Krsna. Svamiji, every person is not capable of doing each and every thing.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. In London, New York, San Fransisco, Los Angeles, we have got large temples.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. I see. It is certainly praiseworthy. This morning I saw somthing that reminded me of the ancient time, about the Puranas. Just like this Gurukula today will transform into a big institution in about twenty years from now. The modern academic education like B.A. etc is nothing. The education given in the Gurukula is the highest of all.] [break]
Prabhupada: [Transl. What is there?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. What is there?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. They are building a large temple. Very big. Now they are planning to construct a Hospital which will cost about eleven crore rupees.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. What have they built now?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Do you see him?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. I know him. Before one time he had so much stomach pain. This is about five, six years ago when he was staying in Calcutta. Srinivasa Jhunjhunwala. I had treated him for ten, fifteen days. He said I am a sugar patient. I have diabetes. I told him you have to control your diet. He said I can't stop eating. I can't stop sugar. I said if you eat sugar it will either damage your heart or paralyze your body.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. I have heard he smokes cigarettes so much.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. What to say, while I was there he smoked 10 cigarettes. He has bronchitis in his chest. I told him you are a saintly person, so you live a life like that. Why are you attached to sinful way of life?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. What did he say?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. There, the topic came out that what is the nature of Kali-yuga. In the scripture the characteristics of Kali-yuga are described pisaca vadana krura/ kalisca kalahapriya/ vama haste dhrtam sisnam/ svade jihvam karsati. The two senses, anyone who conquers them, he is as good as God. The position in which he is now, we can accept him only as a materialistic sadhu.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Like that.]
Prabhupada:
Kaviraja: [Transl. This is the symptom of a sadhu. The Sanskrit grammar also says, sat nauti prakaram iti sadhu, he whose intention is honest, is a sadhu. Smoking cigarate is strictly prohibited. It is injurious to health. His lungs are finished. He already has bronchitis. In a short time he will suffer from asthma.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. How old is he?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. How old is he?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Narkachoor. So Vaidyaji will come at 10.30? You have to get one astaṅgabali from his place. I have to control his cough. It should not increase any further. Let us get it. We can give him 2/3 times a day.]
Prabhupada: If he likes, he can come.
Kaviraja: [Transl. If it falls off, let it fall. No problem. When it dries up it will come out automatically.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. Apply oil. Now he will have less sleep because of swelling medicine. Look here how the skin looks baggy. As swelling will reduce his skin will hang down.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. If the urine is more then the swelling will be less. Svamiji also shows his own pastimes. Sometimes he makes it more and sometimes less.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. It has different quality. Ginger from Bombay is of number one quality. Ginger from Bengal is number two.]
Prabhupada: Where is Babaji Maharaja?
Upendra: Just coming.
Kaviraja: [Transl. Narkachoor. It is called Narkachoor. One is Kachoor and other is Narkachoor. Kachoor prevents cough. Narkachoor is different it cures swelling. Narakachoor is in big quantity. Kachoor Kasni is in small quantity.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Unless one recognizes the herbs, the shopkeepers will give what not.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. That's true. In our West Bengal we get good quality medicine. The wandering tribal women of Bengal know them very well. Grocers also know. Here I saw everything is duplicate.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Where is Babaji?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Okay.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Come in. Come this side. Do you have Astangavali in your place? Sit down. Do you have Astaṅgavali?]

Prabhupada: [Transl. What did you see?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. Slowly, slowly this body, he has control over his body. That's why it is still functioning. I think his hemoglobin is not more than 45.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Motion, He doesn't eat anything. We give Punarnava and he will have clear motion. There will be no constipation. There is no gas in the stomach. That disturbance is not there.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. About urine, you prepare bhapka [Distillation vessel] in which you mix one kilo of Punarna roots and one kilo of Makoi. Tomorrow he must get the ark.]

Kaviraja: [Transl. When there is fever and you give milk that is not good. If there is chronic fever or cough and if you give milk it is good like nectar.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. You soak this in the water. If the ingredients weigh one kilo then you soak it in sixteen kilo water. Otherwise you can soak in eight kilos of water over night. In the evening you strain it. Astaṅgavali you send as soon as possible in an hour or two.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. You all make my pastime come to an end.] [break]
Prabhupada: [Transl. In Mayapur?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Where?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. That I don't know where she stayed. She went there by car. She stayed there at night and came back in the next morning. There is so much facility for staying. Here also there is nice facility for staying. If any guest comes there is plenty of facility. And devotees don't require anything. They only need some shelter.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. In Mayapur we have built a house for accommodation. How many people can live there, Babaji Maharaja?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Where? In Mayapur? Yes. I think Maharaja you understand, sri vaisnavanam gosthisu nitya sri nitya maṅgalm, in the association of vaisnavas, Laksmi is always present because you have captured Laksmi's husband. nitya sri nitya maṅgalm, this means such a place is non different from Vaikuntha. Baṅgarji also constructed a beautiful temple there.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. At least one more temple is built for the vaisnava sampradaya. The most important thing is that another temple for our vaisnava sampradaya has been constructed. Let there be more vaisnavas, let people of the world be purified. Nowadays Maharaja, the influence of Kali has spread so much in last twenty, thirty years. This influence was not prominent in the last century. Now almost every person is under illusion. Nobody is afraid of commiting sin. Previously people were afraid of the consequences. This is the influence of Kali.
It is written in Srimad-Bhagavatam, viprair bhagavati varta gehe gehe jane jane/ karita dhana-lobhena katha-saras tato gatah "Brahmanas will describe the topics of Krsna's pastimes in Srimad Bhagavatam from house to house in order to accumulate wealth, therefore their audience will not achieve devotional service, which is the essence of hearing such topics." [Padma Purana, Uttara-Khanda, chapter sixty three] tirtha pakhandih ruddha]

Prabhupada: [Transl. Do you like it?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. He is immortal. All these things are immortal. The preaching of religion that is going on today will increase much more in ten years time.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. In the Statesman, our scientific conference that was held.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Yes. Read it to him.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. No, I didn't give lecture.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. He is most fortunate. Despite being highly learned in modern education he has left the unreal and embraced the path of reality. Not everyone can suddenly come in this path.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Those who have pious credit from previous lives can adopt this path. Hanumanji was asked, does the Supreme Lord protect by taking a stick in His hand? He gives good intelligence to those whom He wants to protect and He gives sinful mentality to those whom He wants to destroy. In Kali-yuga God does not come face to face. Through preaching He protects.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. They say, life comes from molecule, but we say, no. This was the subject matter for discussion in the conference. What happened to all the papers? Read it to them.]
Upendra: This is the article.
Upendra: [reading] This is from The Statesman, 24th October, 197... No?
Bhakti-caru: [reads Statesman article] "The Non-Physical View on the Origin of Species. Materialists and men of faith continue to disagree over the origins of life. According to the first group, life is derived from atoms and molecules. The Russian scientist Dr. A. I. Oparin has been propagating this view since 1957, but his challengers demand 'really solid examples of life arising from matter.' "

Svarupa Damodara: Oh, I also gave a lecture on the life and its origin. In Mathura there is one veterinary college, that is the biggest in Asia, about two hundred scholars. We also showed "Hare Krsna Frontier," "Spiritual Frontier" movies. They liked very much. And we're having another lecture on Thursday. It will be given by Thompson in All-India Institute of Medical Sciences. There will be about some two hundred, three hundred scholars from around Delhi. We'll be discussing about life in its origin. And also we are planning to give several lecture in Delhi University, in the mathematics, biology and physics departments.
Prabhupada: [Transl. Yes?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. He was earning a lot of money. He has left everything.]
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. In Mahaprabhu's time, Svarupa Damodara was the authority. For everything Svarupa Damodara was the authority.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. You know, the thesis he has written in his Doctorate, he has dedicated it to me.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Ram Narayana Ojha. He lived in Vrndavana for twelve years and then he went back to his place to do business. I told him you are unfortunate. After living in Vrndavana for twelve, thirteen years if a person goes away then he is certainly very unlucky. Now he is seventy-five years old.
This is Kali-yuga, otherwise what else? prathame narjita vidya/ dvitiye narjitam dhanam / trtiye narjitam tapam/ cathurthe kim karisyati-If one does not get education in the first part of his life, does not earn wealth in the second part of his life, does not practice austerity in the third part of his life, then what will he do in the last part of his life?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Our Kapoorji also belives that life comes from molecules.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Yes. He came.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. There, he is like a crane among swans.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Big, big scholars.]
Prabhupada: No sentiment "Come on," scientific challenge. [Transl. We are ready to challenge. Speak scientifically.] No theory. [Transl. In his book Kapoorji has written in one place that Ramakrsna once told sugar candy, what did he say?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. That kind of theory. Ramakrsna is the authority.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. After seeing all that I felt very sad, sata kanda ramayana pade sita kara baba, it is like asking whose father is Sita after reading the entire Ramayana consisting of seven kandas. After discussing vaisnava philosophy for so many years finally Ramakrsna's theory! What do you think?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Now you will be here no? Medicines will be ready by this evening. He has got cough. Within three four days you will be alright. The more you all can keep him happy by pleasantry the quicker he will get well. Usually he speaks very less with us. Because you all have come, he is talking and laughing. This is very good for his health.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. You will be surprised to hear that our Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, the cost of one set is Eight hundred rupees, we have sold fifty sets. Is it not?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Four thousand set.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. And also in Russian country.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Hindi books are selling like anything.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Somebody came and showed me yesterday.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. No, Bengali. They printed twenty thousand copies. All are sold.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. As soon as we print books they are sold. Hinidi books are selling like hotcakes. Did you show him Hindi books? Show him. In Bengal, Bihar they travel by boat and distribute books.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. By the presence of such exalted personalities the world becomes purified. Otherwise, aṅga baṅga kalingesu saurastra magadhasca tirtha yatram vina gatva candrayanam gatam acaret The Pandavas went but they came back immediately. Wherever sainly persons and great sages reside, that place becomes sacred.]

People of the world will come to know, they will read, this is great. parivartaniya samsare mrtak ko anujayate / jatastu ganyate sutra guni gana gannanarambhe / na patati kathina sasambhrama yasya / tena mata cet putravati vadabandhya kidrsi bhavati. guni gana gannanarambhe.

Prabhupada: [Transl. This is the satisfaction. Srila Prabhupada said I had a desire to print some books. Anyway, in all languages of the world many books have been printed.]

Prabhupada: [Transl. kirtaniyah sada harih, One who thinks himself lower than the grass, who is more tolerant than a tree, and who does not expect personal honor yet is always prepared to give all respect to others can very easily always chant the holy name of the Lord. From birth parents will teach, then teachers will teach, and in the asrama of guru, guru will teach.] marabi rakhabi yo iccha tohara, it is Your wish whether You want to kill me or save me. [Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Saranagati, Song 11]. seva sukha duhkha/ parama sampada / nasaye avidya-duhkha, happiness and distress in the course of rendering service unto You is the greatest treasury which destroys the distress of nescience. After completely surrendering myself at Your lotus feet, I have become happy. Now, my material distress has gone to a distant place so that I am free from all anxieties. I find happiness wherever I look, in the four directions.
Your two lotus feet award one freedom from lamentation and fearfulness. They are the reservoir of transcendental nectar. I have taken refuge at those lotus feet and thus have given up all fear of material existence.
Having experienced the pleasure of Your service, I have forgotten about my previous history. I am Your servant and You are my master. What is the use of hankering after another's wealth?
I do not know how I had the strength to come to Your abode and take shelter at Your lotus feet. You are full of compassion for the fallen conditioned souls and it is for this reason that You are always engaged in delivering them.
In truth, everything belongs to You and I am only a caretaker. It is Your duty to deliver me. I will give up my independence and take shelter at Your lotus feet.

Whatever food Your associates leaves behind after honoring Your remnants-that will be my daily meal and I will relish it with great happiness.
Whether I am sitting or sleeping, I will always be meditating upon Your lotus feet. Whenever You call me, I will come to You, dancing.

The holy name of Krsna possesses unlimited potency. My heart is always burning because of the fire of desire for material enjoyment. It is like the desert made hot by the scorching heat of the sun. But, the holy name of Krsna enters through the holes of the ears and goes straight to my heart with a shower of transcendental nectar.
Tears of love flowed from my eyes and my body began to sweat. The hair of my body stood on end and my entire body lost its color. My mind became stunned and I lost external consciousness. In this way, my entire body became filled with ecstatic love.
After creating such a disturbance, the holy name showered a current of nectar within my heart, thus placing me within an ocean of ecstatic love. Before I could understand what was happening, the holy name made me a madman and stole my heart and all my assets.
Such is the behavior of He whom I took shelter of. I can't describe these occurances any further. The holy name of Krsna is fully independent. My source of happiness is the lotus feet of those who are blessed by the holy name of Krsna.
