Room Conversation
- October 30, 1977, Vrndavana 771030R1-Vrindavan [91:54 Minutes]
If he likes, he can come
Pancadraviḍa: Now only one thing is needed, Srila Prabhupada.
Prabhupada: Hmm.
Pancadraviḍa: To have you sitting on the vyasasana and preaching like a lion.
Prabhupada: Yes, I wanted to say something. Let us see. [break]
Tamala Krsna: [devotees laugh] We had no father, Srila Prabhupada.
Prabhupada: That is another thing.
Pancadraviḍa: And no money also. [laughing]
Tamala Krsna: No. We were vagabonds. We were loitering in the street, and you invited us into your home. That's actually a fact. You fed us prasadam, cooked for us. You taught us how to be human beings.
Pancadraviḍa: Just like these gurukula kids. You have also taught us even how to dress ourself.
Jayadvaita: And you brought us to Vrndavana, richest place.
Pancadraviḍa: Full of desire trees and jewels.
Prabhupada: You can provide five hundred students very easily.
Tamala Krsna: Such a nice building. Who would not like to go to school here in Vrndavana? Nice, pure atmosphere. [break]
Vrindavan De: [Transl. I am going father.]
Prabhupada: Hun?
Vrindavan De: [Transl. I am leaving?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Where will you go?]
Vrindavan De: [Transl. From here I am going to Delhi and from there tomorrow I will go back.]
Prabhupada: Hun?
Satadhanya: ...Vrindavan, he's going to Delhi. From Delhi he'll go to Calcutta.
Prabhupada: Oh. Oh, Vrindavan.
Tamala Krsna: Yes, Srila Prabhupada.
Prabhupada: [Transl. You all have no worry about food and shelter.]
Vrindavan De: [Transl. That's why I wanted to, Actually I came to return the money.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. You won't be able to return it.]
Vrindavan De: [Transl. This one I must return. I will return in April.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. You didn't return anything. You took five thousand. That's rubbish. Don't tell me that. You have taken so much money. You have already taken fifty thousand rupees. But you could not do anything. Just ate and slept. So much money wasted. I gave one time five thousand, one time ten thousand, I gave to your mother twenty-five thousand. Also I financed…] Where is the money? We cannot put fire in the flesh.
Tamala Krsna: [quietly] Can't put good money after bad money.
Prabhupada: [Transl. It will destroy everything. Better than that, if possible live comfortably, you are a son of a Vaisnava. Become a Vaisnava and chant the holy name of Hari. No need to worry about food and shelter. Live happily. Srila Prabhupada's picture is there, render service, offer him bhoga and take prasada. And try to run the small shop. That is enough. You haven't got to worry about food and shelter so what is the need of doing such a big business and waste so much money? You have lost already fifty thousand. It would have been better if you would have gone to the bank. There is no record of any transaction.]
Vrndavana De: [Transl. I will arrange fifty percent money to settle with the person who supplies.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. That's all rubbish.]
Vrndavana De: [Transl. He said, he will arrange like that.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Rubbish, rubbish.]
Vrndavana De: [Transl. We have to show some money.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Forget that completely.]
Tamala Krsna: Upendra, you should get Prabhupada ready, because the parikrama's ready.
Prabhupada: [Transl. Just eat and live. What is the need to do business?]
Vrndavana De: [Transl. It is not a question of eating and sleeping]
Prabhupada: [Transl. If you can then get a job. Like your brother, he is sitting and eating. You also sit and eat. Let your mother sit and eat. There is no problem for food and shelter. Why are you so much worried about where I will stay and what I will eat? Become a vaisnava.] [break]
Prabhupada: [Transl. There is pus in...]
Kaviraja: [Transl. I will take care of that today. Does he feel discomfort while sitting?]
Bhakti-caru: Yes.
Kaviraja: [Transl. Does mucus come out?]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. No, it comes out with difficulty.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Oh, with difficulty.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Little mucus came out.]
Tamala Krsna: Little swelling around the...
Bhakti-caru: Eyelid.
Prabhupada: Hmm?
Tamala Krsna: There's a little swelling today here, Srila Prabhupada, around the eye. And the hands are kind of swollen.
Kaviraja: [Transl. The swelling in the hands is less. Gradually it will reduce.]
Tamala Krsna: What's that, Bhakti-caru?
Bhakti-caru: When the skin sags, that means that it's...
Tamala Krsna: Going away. Yeah, but here it's...
Bhakti-caru: I was telling him that it comes and goes.
Tamala Krsna: Yeah, it comes and goes. But in the eye it's very much today.
Kaviraja: [Transl. Did he pass stool?]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. No. He passed day before yesterday.] [to Tamala Krsna: Did he pass stool day before yesterday? Very little in the morning.]
Tamala Krsna: Only a little.
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Little.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Let me see the legs.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Okay. Should I open?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. The medicine that I have prepared now, we will apply it in the lower portion of the legs. I will heat it up little and smear it.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Okay. That powder, along with cow urine.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Cow urine. No. Only with water.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Okay with water. Should I apply now?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. You apply now. That will be nice.]
Tamala Krsna: Srila Prabhupada? I think the kaviraja had a dream last night. [to kaviraja:] You had a dream.
Bhakti-caru: Svapna.
Kaviraja: [Transl. This morning at about 4.30 a.m. I had a dream that he is getting better. [Prabhupada coughing] Is this coming from today? It's mucus. Such mucus is produced from Horlicks, milk etc. and it blocks the throat. Has such coughing started today?]
Bhakti-caru: Yes.
Kaviraja: [Transl. Morning or later? He had it last night.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Just now it started. Parikrama…. [to Prabhupada:] Did you have it before Srila Prabhupada? [to Kaviraja:] No. Started from today only.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. This I will control today.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. When he coughs, he feels trouble as the mucus doesn't come out. Also he can't sleep properly because of coughing.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. When one is weak, when one's fire of digestion is not strong, any disease will capture anytime.]
Bhakti-caru: I see.
Kaviraja: [Transl. Another cause for coughing is the weakness of the lungs. It gets affected quickly. By taking anything cold or drinking milk, may be milk is not suitable for him.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Is milk cold by nature?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Milk is cold.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. I see. Is coughing because of that? When we give him milk, he starts to cough.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Do one thing. You have barley, so along with barley give less quantity like one spoon or two spoons]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Of Horlicks?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Not Horlicks. Milk.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. No, Horlicks is also good. It contains vitamins etc.]
Bhakti-caru: The doctor said he should take Horlicks and barley, little bit.
Kaviraja: [Transl. Like that he has a tendency of kapha or mucus no?]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Yes. Little, little.]
Kaviraja [Transl. In this age of life, after the age of seventy, vardhakye vardhamanena vayu na rasya slesamat a person becomes more and more afflicted by mucus and air. That is natural.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. One doctor said that whenever he coughs, lay him on the left side. Is it right?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. If the right lung is underneath the body a person coughs more. If one lays down on his left he remains peaceful.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. I see.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. I will prepare the medicine by evening so that everything will come under control.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Do you have all the ingredients?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. You arrange to get Sitopaladi Chūrna. Everything else I have got.
Prabhupada: About that distilling machine? I have told Tamala.
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Srila Prabhupada, the Vaidya at Rahgaji Mandir will arrange for that. I have sent someone there. He will come here today.]
Prabhupada: Hun.
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Vaidyaji told him to come today. After dropping Vrndavana Babu the car will bring him here on the way back. [to Kaviraja:] Yesterday he ate some Lauki sabji [Bottle gourd]. Should I give him today also?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Maharaja, what do you feel like eating today?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. I will eat something.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. That is good. Anything else would you like to eat?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Little something. Yesterday I ate Lauki.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. May be little milk and papaya I can give?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Give him what he wants to eat.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. I was thinking if little bit milk can be given.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes, Little you can give. That I can arrange. You can mix it with medicine so that there will be no mucus.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. What about yogurt?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. No. No yogurt.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Little milk, Papaya and honey together.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. If he likes to.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Srila Prabhupada, Should I give you some grapes juice now, I mean pomegranate juice? No.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. What did you give him from morning?]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. In the morning I gave him Horlicks only.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. How much did you give?]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. One hundred twenty-five grams.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Don't give more than fifty grams.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. The thing is he only drinks something in about three four hours.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. If you give him smaller amount he will feel hungry and he can take more often. And that way it will be digested.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Sometimes he sleeps for four hours. So he doesn't take in between. That's why I was thinking to give as much as possible.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Too much liquid he will not be able to digest.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. He has no problem for digestion. [to Prabhupada:] Srila Prabhupada, Do you have problem in digestion?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. How will I know?]
Svarūpa Damodara: [Transl. Small amount is good.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Okay. Then I will give small amount. Sastriji is saying to give you fifty cc at a time in every hour.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. That will be good. It will be digested and he will feel hungry.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. I am sure Sastriji knows Bengali.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. He knows well.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. I know little.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. He lives in Calcutta so…]
Kaviraja: [Transl. I have many Bengali patients in Calcutta. I can not write, I hear and I understand. I can speak little.]
[Indistinct background discussion.]
Bhakti-caru: There is one medicine that needs to be distilled. He has the apparatus. There is another Ayurvedic Physician in Rahgaji's Temple, he is going to arrange for that. Yesterday he already asked him. He will be coming today also.
Prabhupada: [Transl. Sukha sanchar Company is there. They sold me a small...]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Now they have made another arrangement. Today I will arrange for the ark and it will be dispatched tomorrow.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Vaidyaji, he says there were two medicines for legs. Are they in separate packets?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. The first medicine was that of suhth and narakachura. One is small and one is large. I told you to grind more. Didn't I? Bigone is white. Bring here both I will show you. The swelling in the eyes, According to Caraka-tatrame puratod kleda sroto panḍaksa ... When enough fluid is not produced then there is swelling in the eyes. The swelling in the hands is also less because the skin hangs down. Now medicines will go on 24 hours a day. As medicines will go in his body, in about four days time the swelling will subside.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Now it is less, the swelling of the eyes.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. When one sits up the swelling increases. We can heat it up. For cough, you put the rasa or medicine in a bowl and heat it up little bit.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. I will just go and do it and bring here. Honey is there, will honey spoil the decoction?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Did you put honey already? Oh, honey is already mixed. Then we have to give him as it is.]
Svarūpa Damodara: [Transl. Honey never be kept on fire.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. They are enemy.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. He recited one sloka in that he says mucus blocks the throat. Actually that is not the blockage of the throat because he does not have that much mucus. Only when he caughs and tries to take out the mucus, does his throat become blocked. He chanted one sloka, he might have remembered something.]
Prabhupada: kanthavarodhana … [Mukunda-mala-stotra 33]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. That one.]
[Indistinct conversation] [break]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Did you see all the temples?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. What?]
Svarūpa Damodara: [Transl. Did you see all the temples?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. See what? I didn't see all the temples.]
Prabhupada: Krsna-Balarama Mandir?
Svarūpa Damodara: Krsna-Balarama...
Kaviraja: [Transl. This one, yes. Yesterday I had darsana two three times. Very beautiful temple. It has been built by an extraordinary person. No ordinary person can do it. There is no doubt about it.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Our temple in Calcutta.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. That Mayapur temple?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. No. In Calcutta.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. No, I did not have darsana there.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. In Albert Road.]
Svarūpa Damodara: [Transl. He is the President of Calcutta Temple.]
Adri-dharana: [Transl. Near Hindi High School.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. I go there every day. I didn't know before. Now I will visit. You have got so many temples. In Bombay…]
Prabhupada: [Transl. We have got 108 temples.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Just see. There are 108 beads in a Japa bead, and in the same way you have got 108 temples. The number will increase more and more. In ten or twelve years the number will reach more than thousand. This is the best form of preaching. The purpose for which you have started this movement is very powerful and it is the highest remedy for the suffering people of the whole world.]
Prabhupada: Bhavausadhi
Kaviraja: [Transl. Bhavausadhi. I visit about sixteen or seventeen millionaires, but I see that none of them is peaceful. Everybody is disturbed. They are burning like a blazing fire.]
Prabhupada: Samsara-davanala-liḍha-loka.
Kaviraja: [Transl. You are very right. Great personalities like Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Ramanujacarya, Sahkaracarya were sent for preaching work. There is no doubt that you are also empowered by Krsna. Svamiji, every person is not capable of doing each and every thing.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. In London, New York, San Fransisco, Los Angeles, we have got large temples.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. I see. It is certainly praiseworthy. This morning I saw somthing that reminded me of the ancient time, about the Puranas. Just like this Gurukula today will transform into a big institution in about twenty years from now. The modern academic education like B.A. etc is nothing. The education given in the Gurukula is the highest of all.] [break]
Kaviraja: [Transl. In the evening I went to Paglanand Thakura's place.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. What is there?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Pardon?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. What is there?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. They are building a large temple. Very big. Now they are planning to construct a Hospital which will cost about eleven crore rupees.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. What have they built now?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Now they are setting marbles in the temple room.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Do you see him?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. I know him. Before one time he had so much stomach pain. This is about five, six years ago when he was staying in Calcutta. Srinivasa Jhunjhunwala. I had treated him for ten, fifteen days. He said I am a sugar patient. I have diabetes. I told him you have to control your diet. He said I can't stop eating. I can't stop sugar. I said if you eat sugar it will either damage your heart or paralyze your body.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. I have heard he smokes cigarettes so much.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. What to say, while I was there he smoked 10 cigarettes. He has bronchitis in his chest. I told him you are a saintly person, so you live a life like that. Why are you attached to sinful way of life?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. What did he say?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. This habit won't go away. Is it easy to control the senses, Maharaja? Can everyone do it?]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. A devotee should control it.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. There, the topic came out that what is the nature of Kali-yuga. In the scripture the characteristics of Kali-yuga are described pisaca vadana krura/ kalisca kalahapriya/ vama haste dhrtam sisnam/ svade jihvam karsati. The two senses, anyone who conquers them, he is as good as God. The position in which he is now, we can accept him only as a materialistic sadhu.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Like that.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. It's good that he is at least doing something ritual.]
Prabhupada:
Kaviraja: [Transl. This is the symptom of a sadhu. The Sanskrit grammar also says, sat nauti prakaram iti sadhu, he whose intention is honest, is a sadhu. Smoking cigarate is strictly prohibited. It is injurious to health. His lungs are finished. He already has bronchitis. In a short time he will suffer from asthma.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. How old is he?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. That is why in our scripture Tamala leaves are prohibited. Don't use them.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. How old is he?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. He is about sixty years old. Didn't you see him ever? He knows you very well. He was wishing good for you that may Maharajaji get well soon, he is a good sadhu. He was surrounded by ten, twenty Marwadis.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. What was the other one? One was dry ginger and the other was?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Narkachoor. So Vaidyaji will come at 10.30? You have to get one astahgabali from his place. I have to control his cough. It should not increase any further. Let us get it. We can give him 2/3 times a day.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. He is about to come.]
Tamala Krsna: Srila Prabhupada? Your Godbrothers Krsna dasa Babaji and Ananda Prabhu, they are here. You want to see them? Also, someone told me that Bon Maharaja has returned to Vrndavana. Is there any reason to call him here?
Prabhupada: If he likes, he can come.
Tamala Krsna: Okay. We don't have to invite him to come. He knows you're here. So he should come of his own accord if he wants. Okay.
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Should this be applied like powder or mix it with water?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Water is okay but ark is better.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. It is difficult to stick in the body.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. If it falls off, let it fall. No problem. When it dries up it will come out automatically.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. So this should be applied 2/3 times a day.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Once a day you smear it and two times you apply like powder.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Once a day smear it and two times apply like powder. And in the evening, at night oil should be applied.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. Apply oil. Now he will have less sleep because of swelling medicine. Look here how the skin looks baggy. As swelling will reduce his skin will hang down.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Sometimes the swelling reduces to almost nothing. It has a connection with urine. If urine is more…]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. If the urine is more then the swelling will be less. Svamiji also shows his own pastimes. Sometimes he makes it more and sometimes less.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. What if narakachoor and sunth are finished?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. You prepare more.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Half, half measure?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Same quantity each.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. What is the difference between sunth and adrak?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Adrak is raw ginger.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. And when it is dried, it is called sunth. Oh I see.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. It has different quality. Ginger from Bombay is of number one quality. Ginger from Bengal is number two.]
Prabhupada: Where is Babaji Maharaja?
Upendra: Bhavananda?
Bhakti-caru: No, Babaji.
Upendra: Just coming.
Kaviraja: [Transl. Narkachoor. It is called Narkachoor. One is Kachoor and other is Narkachoor. Kachoor prevents cough. Narkachoor is different it cures swelling. Narakachoor is in big quantity. Kachoor Kasni is in small quantity.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Unless one recognizes the herbs, the shopkeepers will give what not.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. That's true. In our West Bengal we get good quality medicine. The wandering tribal women of Bengal know them very well. Grocers also know. Here I saw everything is duplicate.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Kaviraja from Rahgaji Mandir has come.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Has come?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Where is Babaji?]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. He is coming. He just went to the temple.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Okay.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Come in. Come this side. Do you have Astangavali in your place? Sit down. Do you have Astahgavali?]
Assistant Kaviraja: [Transl. There is a shop. We have to see there.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. We cannot get it there. Today we have to control his cough problem.]
[Indistinct discussion about medicine]
Tamala Krsna: Srila Prabhupada? I just now can't find Krsna dasa. I'll continue to look. I just saw him about ten minutes ago, told him one minute. When I came back... Maybe he's walking around. If I find him then I'll send him. I'll continue to look for him.
Kaviraja: [Transl. There is swelling in the eyes. Look here.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. What did you see?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. He is checking your blood.]
Assistant Kaviraja: [Transl. Anemia.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. Slowly, slowly this body, he has control over his body. That's why it is still functioning. I think his hemoglobin is not more than 45.]
Assistant Kaviraja: [Transl. Let me see your tongue.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. His tongue is clear from day before yesterday.]
Assistant Kaviraja: [Transl. Is motion clear?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Motion, He doesn't eat anything. We give Punarnava and he will have clear motion. There will be no constipation. There is no gas in the stomach. That disturbance is not there.]
Assistant Kaviraja: [Transl. Is there swelling in the stomach?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Slightly. In this portion slightly swelling is there.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. Please sit down.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. There is no wind in the stomach. This is the best symptom.]
Assistant Kaviraja: [Transl. Normal. That is very important.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. When there is swelling, usually there is accumulation of gas in the stomach. Little swelling in the eyes. tatrame puratod kleda sroto ganḍaksa … ]
Assistant Kaviraja: [Transl. What are these?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Narakachoor and sohth. And at night suskamuladi oil. For swelling.]
Assistant Kaviraja: [Transl. What about urine? By passing more urine the swelling will reduce.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. About urine, you prepare bhapka [Distillation vessel] in which you mix one kilo of Punarna roots and one kilo of Makoi. Tomorrow he must get the ark.]
Assistant Kaviraja: [Transl. I will arrange this today only.]
[Prabhupada's Godbrothers arrive]
Ananda Prabhu: [Transl. Krsna dasa Babaji has come.]
Tamala Krsna: Krsna dasa Babaji.
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. Haribol.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Where did you go?]
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. To see the Gurukula.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Sit down. Ananda Prabhu. Ananda Prabhu you stay here with us.]
Ananda Prabhu: [Transl. Pardon?]
Prabhupada: [Transl. You stay here.]
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. Hari bol!]
Svarūpa Damodara: [Transl. You stay here.]
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. That is good.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. He roams around. Everyone laughs]
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. I roam everywhere.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. My duration of life is finished. But still dragging. According to my horoscope there is no duration of life left.]
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. By the Lord's will everything can change.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Now live or die is one and the same thing.]
[background discussion between kaviraja and assistant continues; gives intructions to Bhakti-caru]
Kaviraja: [Transl. When there is fever and you give milk that is not good. If there is chronic fever or cough and if you give milk it is good like nectar.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. That powder you gave, is it for cough? Should it be given with milk?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Give with milk.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. What are the news? Babaji Maharaja?]
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. Pardon?]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. He is asking what is the news?]
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. What news? No fresh news.]
Assistant Kaviraja: [Transl. Are you arranging for the ingredients?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. Make arrangement for ark. If bhapka is unavailable then we can order it from Sukha Sanchara.]
Assistant Kaviraja: [Transl. First let me arrange the bhapka. Then I will arrange the ark.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. You soak this in the water. If the ingredients weigh one kilo then you soak it in sixteen kilo water. Otherwise you can soak in eight kilos of water over night. In the evening you strain it. Astahgavali you send as soon as possible in an hour or two.]
Assistant Kaviraja: [Transl. Astahgavali?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes. To Bhakti-caru: May be you can send the car. He is not sick. This is his pastime.]
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna. That's right.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. You all make my pastime come to an end.] [break]
Kaviraja: [Transl. My children, my wife go there. About three months ago she came to Vrndavana. She went to Mayapur about one month ago. She described the beauty of Mayapur. It is a wonderful place. She stayed there one night.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. In Mayapur?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Yes.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Where?]
Kaviraja: [Transl. That I don't know where she stayed. She went there by car. She stayed there at night and came back in the next morning. There is so much facility for staying. Here also there is nice facility for staying. If any guest comes there is plenty of facility. And devotees don't require anything. They only need some shelter.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. In Mayapur we have built a house for accommodation. How many people can live there, Babaji Maharaja?]
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. So many.]
Prabhupada: [Transl. Ananda?]
Svarūpa Damodara: [Transl. Prabhu is asking how many people can live?]
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. How many people? One thousand people.]
Ananda Prabhu: [Transl. One thousand people can live.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Where? In Mayapur? Yes. I think Maharaja you understand, sri vaisnavanam gosthisu nitya sri nitya mahgalm, in the association of vaisnavas, Laksmi is always present because you have captured Laksmi's husband. nitya sri nitya mahgalm, this means such a place is non different from Vaikuntha. Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. That is also nice temple.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. At least one more temple is built for the vaisnava sampradaya. The most important thing is that another temple for our vaisnava sampradaya has been constructed. Let there be more vaisnavas, let people of the world be purified. Nowadays Maharaja, the influence of Kali has spread so much in last twenty, thirty years. This influence was not prominent in the last century. Now almost every person is under illusion. Nobody is afraid of commiting sin. Previously people were afraid of the consequences. This is the influence of Kali.
It is written in Srimad-Bhagavatam, viprair bhagavati varta gehe gehe jane jane/ karita dhana-lobhena katha-saras tato gataḥ "Brahmanas will describe the topics of Krsna's pastimes in Srimad Bhagavatam from house to house in order to accumulate wealth, therefore their audience will not achieve devotional service, which is the essence of hearing such topics." Ananda Prabhu: [Transl. Yes. I saw it. I went there with parikrama and saw everything. It is a long building located in the north side.]
Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. A huge building.]
Ananda Prabhu: [Transl. That is bigger than this building.]
Bhakti-caru: [Transl. It is the longest building in West Bengal.]

Krsna dasa Babaji: [Transl. It is the mercy of the Supreme Lord.]
Kaviraja: [Transl. Those who have pious credit from previous lives can adopt this path. Hanumanji was asked, does the Supreme Lord protect by taking a stick in His hand? He gives good intelligence to those whom He wants to protect and He gives sinful mentality to those whom He wants to destroy. In Kali-yuga God does not come face to face. Through preaching He protects.]

krsna-nama dhare kata bala
visaya-vasananale mora citta sada jvale ravi-tapta maru-bhūmi sama karna-randhra-patha diya hrdi majhe pravesiya barisaya sudha anupama The holy name of Krsna possesses unlimited potency. My heart is always burning because of the fire of desire for material enjoyment. It is like the desert made hot by the scorching heat of the sun. But, the holy name of Krsna enters through the holes of the ears and goes straight to my heart with a shower of transcendental nectar.

The hair of my body stood on end and my entire body lost its color. My mind became stunned and I lost external consciousness. In this way, my entire body became filled with ecstatic love.

Before I could understand what was happening, the holy name made me a madman and stole my heart and all my assets.

The holy name of Krsna is fully independent. My source of happiness is the lotus feet of those who are blessed by the holy name of Krsna.
