পঞ্চবিধ রস - শান্ত, দাস্য, সখ্য, বাৎসল্য ।
মধুর-নাম শৃঙ্গাররস - সবাতে প্রাবল্য ॥ ৫৩ ॥

panca-vidha rasa-santa, dasya, sakhya, vatsalya

madhura-nama srhgara-rasa-sabate prabalya

SYNONYMS

panca-vidha rasa-five kinds of mellows; santa-neutrality; dasya-servitorship; sakhya-friendship; vatsalya-paternal affection; madhura-sweet; nama-named; srhgara-rasa-the conjugal mellow; sabate-among all of them; prabalya-predominant.

TRANSLATION

"There are five transcendental mellows-neutrality, servitorship, friendship, paternal affection and conjugal love, which is also known as the mellow of sweetness. Conjugal love excels all others.
