krishna, remember at the time of

Imported quote 13038 The most important factor in this verse is the Lord's instructions regarding how to remember the Supreme Personality of Godhead at the end of life. Ante narayana-smrtiḥ: the result of whatever we do in executing spiritual activities is successful if we can remember Narayana, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This program of constant remembrance can be disturbed by many things, but Dhruva Maharaja's life would be so pure, as assured by the Lord Himself, that he would never forget Him. Thus at the time of his death he would remember the Supreme Lord, and before his death he would enjoy this material world, not by sense gratification, but by performing great sacrifices. As stated in the Vedas, when one performs great sacrifices he must give in charity, not only to the brahmanas, but also to the ksatriyas, vaisyas and sūdras. It is assured here that Dhruva Maharaja would be able to perform such activities. In this age of Kali, however, the great sacrifice is the performance of sahkirtana-yajna. Our Krsna consciousness movement is designed to teach people (and to learn ourselves) the exact instruction of the Personality of Godhead. In this way we shall continue to perform the sahkirtana-yajna continually and continually chant the Hare Krsna mantra. Then certainly at the end of our lives we shall be able to remember Krsna, and our program of life will be successful. In this age, distribution of prasada has replaced distribution of money. No one has sufficient money to distribute, but if we distribute krsna-prasada as far as possible, this is more valuable than the distribution of money.

If you take more than you can digest, then immediately there will be indigestion, means you cannot assimilate so much food. That is nature's law. If you touch fire, either you touch or your innocent child touch, the fire will burn it. Fire will not consider that "Here is a child. Let me excuse." No, it will burn. This is nature's law. Similarly, the thoughts which you are maintaining during your lifetime, if that thought becomes prominent-naturally it becomes-at the time of death, then you are going to get a similar body. If you are thinking like a demon, then you get the demon's body next life. And if you are thinking like a devotee, then you get your next life back to home, back to Godhead. This is nature's law. Therefore, if you practice instead of thinking like the demons, how to gratify senses... That is the demonic thought. They are concerned with this body. If you think of Krsna, how to serve Him, that is your perfection of life, because you'll think at the time of death of Krsna. Ante narayana-smrtiḥ [SB 2.1.6].
(More...) Imported quote 18895 So mind is the basic principle of another form of body. Therefore our Krsna consciousness movement is training the mind how to remain Krsna conscious at the time of death. Because Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, yam yam vapi smaran bhavam [Bg 8.6]. Therefore in Bengali poetry there is a saying, bhajana kara pūjana kara marate janale haya, means "You are doing everything in spiritual life, but everything will be examined at the time of death. How you have practiced your bhajana, sadhana, this will be examined at the time of death." If at the time of death you remember Krsna, that will be the examination. We are chanting,
(More...) Asakti, when there is asakti, attraction, attraction... Now, recently I have received one letter. One boy, he was engaged in worshiping the Deity in our Hyderabad center, and he was transferred to Madras. So he became madlike. He has come back. He could not stay there without serving. He has written me letter. So that is bhava. He cannot stay without worshiping the Deity. That stage comes. You have to simply adopt it. Tato bhavaḥ. Tato 'nartha-nivrttiḥ syat. Anartha. Anartha means we are accustomed to this material condition of life, so many anarthas. Just like there are so many people they are going to the cinema in the evening. But those who have attained bhava, his anartha nivrtti is already done. He is not attracted any more by the cinema. He is attracted, bhava, in the worship of the Deity. That is called bhava. That bhava means prema. Only thinking of Krsna, serving Krsna, simply busy in Krsna's service-that is the perfection of life. And if we can maintain that bhava, that situation, mentality, then yam yam vapi smaran loke tyajaty ante kalevaram [Bg 8.6]. And at the time of death, if that bhava is maintained, that is samsiddhim paramam gataḥ. That is the highest perfection of life. This is Krsna consciousness practice, Krsna consciousness. We are trying to... We are not trying to give others; we are trying ourself also, how to get that bhava. That is the perfection of life.
(More...) Imported quote 19039 So our Krsna consciousness movement is to turn the consciousness. Everyone is thinking in a different way, consciousness. We are just trying to transfer their consciousness into Krsna. Then he will be happy. Sada tad-bhava-bhavitaḥ. Yam yam vapi smaran bhavam tyajaty ante kalevaram [Bg 8.6]. If we practice like that, then we become eligible to be transferred to the spiritual world. Yam yam vapi smaran bhavam tyajaty ante kalevaram. We have to give up this body. But if we give up this body, at the time of death if we can think of Krsna... It is very difficult, but if we practice it... Sada tad-bhava-bhavitaḥ. Sada means always. If we practice this simple method: Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama..., then it is possible. So where is the difficulty? Where is the loss? If we ask you to do something, if you think there will be loss, you may reject it. But if there is no loss and the gain is that you get Krsna, then why don't you do it? Such is our, what is called, bigotry: "No, we shall not chant. We shall not do this." This is our misfortune.
