We appeared in the darkest of ages-Kali-yuga-and were overcome by the dualities of desire and hate. Actually this material world is nothing but a part of Maha-Visnu's dream, but to us, who were born in delusion, it seemed like a hellish nightmare. The demons proclaimed this world to be the only reality and therefore there was no hope of finding a way out of this hell. Then you came, O mercy incarnation of the Lord.

"One should know the instructing spiritual master to be the Personality of Krsna. Lord Krsna manifests Himself as the Supersoul and as the greatest devotee of the Lord." (Cc. Adi. 1.47) You were holding the brilliant Bhagavata Purana in your hand and thereby proving that in this age men shall indeed get light from this Purana. All of a sudden we were filled with hope and joy. Now life became meaningful and we got a mission to execute. No words can describe the tremendous feeling of relief we felt when you took away our heavy burdens and when we try to thank you, you simply say that you have no mercy of your own, buy that you are simply carrying the mercy of Krsna, just like a postman delivers letters. From the authoritative scriptures, however, we learn that spiritual life is indeed based on free will. Therefore, you must have volunteered to come to this material world to deliver all the fallen souls by distributing the message of Lord Caitanya. Doesn't this give evidence of the greatest mercy? Actually, your mercy is so great that you are giving us what we could never dream of desiring. Lord Sri Krsna as Supersoul is fulfilling all the desires of the living entities by awarding them different bodies. We have taken birth in mleccha families and therefore our desires were certainly very low and nasty. In spite of this, however, you have given us the highest gift, love of Krsna. We therefore consider it impossible for us to repay our debt to you; nor can you be repayed by all the riches of the world. Therefore, we are yours, Srila Prabhupada, and we pray that we will be engaged one hundred percent in fulfilling your desires.
Now you are turning us into devotees and thus we are getting a share of Lord Krsna opulences. Consequently we are less and less experiencing the material miseries. Therefore we must pray every day to be able to remember how we suffered in the material world, and how greatly relieved we felt when you picked us up from this ocean of birth and death, so that we can remain your menial servants and thereby perfect our lives.
