It is only through devotional service that a conditioned soul, who is tormented by thousands of sinful desires, can purify himself and thus understand Sri Krsna the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Oh, Srila Prabhupada! Your mercy is spread all over the three worlds. That mercy has touched us and today we are able to chant the holy names of the Lord and engage ourselves in His service. Otherwise, how could such an impudent mundane enjoyer and fallen soul such as myself pronounce the sacred names of the Lord. You, Srila Prabhupada, are like a merciful sword that cuts the hard know of the heart (hrdaya-granthi). You are the manifestation of the causeless mercy of the Supreme Lord, who so kindly is dragging the conditioned souls out of the loneliness and darkness of this material existence.

Oh, eternal Father! Be merciful with us and permit us to transfer our attachments to your lotus feet, which are our only oasis in the desert of the material creation.

"All men of knowledge know very well that material attachment is the greatest entanglement of the soul, but this same attachment, when it is transferred to the self-realized devotees, opens the door of liberation." (Bhag. 3.25.20)
