"The lotus feet of our spiritual master are the only way by which we can attain pure devotional service. I bow to his lotus feet with great awe and reverence. By his grace one can cross the ocean of material suffering and obtain the mercy of Krsna."
Throughout the length and breadth of the Vedas it has been declared that worship of Sri Gurudeva is a necessary factor in the quest of the final resting place, Goloka Vrndavana, where one engages in eternal loving rasa with Krsna. Therefore, Vyasa-Pūja is certainly the most auspicious event that all vaisnavas celebrate. For without declaring our love for the spiritual master, how can we receive Lord Krsna's benediction? In order to take to the true path of devotion, we must first find the guide who has already chalked out the way. However, we should not consider the guide to be an ordinary creature like ourselves. There is an incalculable difference between that person with limited knowledge of the empiric world and one in constant touch with the all-cognizant Sri Krsna. Such a "mahatmaa" is so rare that all the three worlds feel the transcendental pleasure of his presence and activities. His glorious pastimes are broadcast throughout the universe. Our only business and leasure should be to describe the fame and message of the Acaryadeva to every last jivatma. After all, why are we living, if not to serve our spiritual master? Many neophyte devotees ask: "What is it that sustains one's eagerness and enthusiasm to serve the guru?" The reply is short and sweet; only love! Our ISKCON movement is based on love, moved by love, increases with love and is understood by love. There is no other motivation. Causeless love accompanied by knowledge and detachment from bodily designations keep our hearts light, our minds clear and the goal always in sight--to please the spiritual master!
Therefore we humbly submit ourselves, devotees of ISKCON Rome, as solely dedicated to the pleasure of our spiritual master, Om Visnupada Paramahamsa Parivrajakacarya Sri-Srimad A.C. Bhaktivedanta Goswami Maharaja Prabhupada, and pray that we may some day be able to appreciate what His Divine Grace is giving us--Krsna-prema.
