We humbly try on Vyasa-Pūja day
To honor Your Divine Grace
Deliverer of the Western world
So fallen in disgrace
We're in the Age of Kali-yuga
A time of pain and sorrow
Irreligious life prevails
In an atmosphere of quarrel
Amidst the chaos and confusion
Your Divine Grace arrived
To preach the message of Mahaprabhu
Compassion personified
Lord Caitanya's advent is rare
He comes once in Brahma's day
In His disciplic line you stand
To teach what scriptures say
No weapons did you bring along
Only the holy name
On the order of your Gurudeva
You've expanded Krsna fame
Jaya, Jagad-guru!
Savior of the Kali-yuga
Jaya, Jagad-guru!
All glories to you!
Philosopher of Vedic wisdom
Scholar of the age
Your books bring light into the world
A new dawn page to page
Your translation of Bhagavad-gita
Makes the meaning at last clear
And your purports to Srimad-Bhagavatam
Have freed our hearts from fear
The theory that life comes from matter
Is accepted without proof
But you have shown the soul to be
Superior and aloof
You've taught that there's a difference
Between God and the soul
The relationship of the two exists
As a part is to the whole
Jaya, Jagad-guru!
Savior of the Kali-yuga
Jaya, Jagad-guru!
All glories to you!
Your morning walk conversations
Enliven everyone
(As you walk, your head appears to be
Held higher than the sun)
The mystic sages can't approach
The position you've attained
The qualities of a pure devotee
Are the highest honors gained
O acarya of the universe
How deep your plans do dwell
To save all fallen, conditioned souls
In heaven and in hell
This godless age will not prevail
Your missions a success
The holy name which you have sung
Has touched our consciousness
Jaya, Jagad-guru!
Savior of the Kali-yuga
Jaya, Jagad-guru!
All glories to you!
