We offer our respectful obeisances unto our spiritual master. His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who is so dear to Lord Krsna, having taken shelter of the Lord's lotus feet.

Our respectful obeisances unto you, O servant of Sarasvati Gosvami. You are kindly preaching the message of Lord Caitanya and delivering the Western world from voidism and impersonalism.

"The lotus feet of our spiritual master are the only way by which we can attain pure devotional service. I bow to his lotus feet with great awe and reverence. By his grace one can cross the ocean of material suffering and obtain the mercy of Krsna."
It is impossible to describe just how exalted is the position of the spiritual master. We must first seriously understand how small and insignificant we are and, upon understanding this, surrender completely to our beloved spiritual master. Only at this time do our lives become of value.
All glories to you, Srila Prabhupada, because you have come to save the entire world. Sanatana Gosvami humbly submitted to Lord Caitanya that, "People consider me to be a very wise man, but I do not know who I am, where I come from, or where I shall go after death." This is exactly our position because we also did not have any knowledge of our real nature. Your spiritual master, His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, said that this material world is not a fit place for a gentleman. Anybody in this world, trapped within a material body, has to suffer the threefold miseries in different forms of distress until such time that he reaches the point of complete surrender to the bona fide spiritual master.

"I was born in the darkness of ignorance, and my spiritual master opened my eyes with the torchlight of knowledge. Therefore I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of my spiritual master."
Only by your grace can one become freed from this false conception of identifying with the material body. We were all so proud of this miserable body, worshiping it and giving it our complete attention, without knowing that it is just a bag of stool, blood, urine, mucus and bile. There is nothing glamorous about it at all.
By your causeless mercy you have come to deliver the fallen souls of this Kali-yuga, so we can rightfully say that you are suhrdam sarva-bhūtanam [Bg 5.29], or the friend of all living entities, who can deliver us from all material miseries. In this Age of Kali, the qualities of mercifulness, truthfulness, cleanliness and austerity are almost lost and it would have been impossible for any of us to become freed from the clutches of maya if you had not come to save us. By your causeless mercy you have made us the most fortunate by creating ISKCON so that we can have sadhu-sahga to protect us from maya.

"One is elevated to the platform of devotional life by the mercy of the Vaisnava, the bona fide spiritual master, and by the special mercy of Krsna. On that platform one gives up all material desires and the association of unwanted persons. Thus one is elevated to the platform of pure devotional service." (Cc. Madhya 24.97) The Srimad-Bhagavatam (3.23.56) states:
neha yat karma dharmaya na viragaya kalpate
na tirtha-pada-sevayai jivann api mrto hi saḥ
"A person whose work does not lead him to spiritual life, a person whose spiritual rituals do not lead him to renunciation or a person situated in renunciation that does not lead him to devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, must be considered as a dead man in spite of the fact that he is living." So, the ultimate aim of the human form of life is found in the unalloyed devotional service to the Lord, and this goal we have to reach in this very life. It is only by your grace that one can reach this perfection, and on this day of Vyasa-pūja we all bow down at your lotus feet and pray to obtain your mercy.
You are the perfect acarya because your very life shows us that pure devotional service cannot be checked by any material conditions. In any condition, whether it be advanced age or temporary illness, you have proved that pure devotional service is directly under the protection of Krsna's divine energy.
By your example we must now have faith in your instructions, and it is the duty of every one of us to follow in your footsteps.
ALL GLORIES TO YOU, Srila Prabhupada!
