"The pearls of the necklace which is hanging on the neck of Krsna are as white as ducks; and the feather of the peacock which is decorating the head of Krsna is colored just like the rainbow. His yellow garment is like lightning in the sky. Krsna is like the newly arrived clouds; and the gopis are just like footbells on His feet. When the cloud pours rain on the grains in the field it appears Krsna is nourishing the hearts of the gopis by calling down His pastime rain of mercy. The ducks fly in the sky in the rainy season, and the rainbow is also seen in the sky at that time. Krsna freely moves with His friends as a cowherd boy in Vrndavana; and when He plays His flute all the living creatures, mobile and immobile become overwhelmed with ecstasy, and they quiver and tears flow in their eyes. " (Teachings of Lord Caitanya, Pg. 90)
Krsna is always calling us, calling for us to see Him again. He has no need to bother, for, certainly, we are fallen and useless. Out of envy, we've made this material world our playground and now we stubbornly cling to our false independence and material attachments. And Krsna, the Supreme Beautiful, is always situated in His full, self-satisfied existence of eternity, knowledge and bliss. But nonetheless, He is always reaching down to us, reaching in through the eons of accumulated coverings, through the illusory effects of material lust. Now, in this age of quarrel and confusion, Krsna has come once again. He has come as the spiritual master.
"The spiritual master is honored as much as the Supreme Lord because He is the most confidential servitor of the Lord." Krsna is calling us, and Srila Prabhupada is calling us. And their call is one and the same. For Krsna's message is just to surrender unto Him. "In return," He promises, " I shall protect you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear." And what is Srila Prabhupada's message? "Just chant Hare Krsna, dance for Krsna and be happy." Chanting and dancing for Krsna means complete surrender to Krsna, for one chants and dances develops ecstatic love of Krsna. That is the undeniable fact, proven by the sastras and by the result.

"As a result of chanting the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, one makes such great advancement in spiritual life that simultaneously his material existence terminates and he receives love of Godhead. The holy name of Krsna is so powerful that by chanting even one name, one very easily achieves these transcendental riches." (Cc., Adi, 8.28)
Supreme purification, the association of Krsna's holy name, is the means and the end. Thus, the purified devotee, ecstatic and peaceful in his undisturbed love, desires only to serve Krsna more and more, forever.
And what can we offer Srila Prabhupada in return for his gifts? Now we are safe, like children in his lap. Who can guess the course of events had he not extended his hand? How horrible, how frightening it would have been. And yet, only he has delivered the message, even to the most fallen.
We do not like to think of our previous lives. But all those around us are still groping and stumbling, suffering in pain. They are afraid to take Srila Prabhupada's mercy for, if they do, they will be forced to love Krsna, forced to surrender at His lotus feet, forced to give up their delusions of grandeur and their selfish material life. They cannot see the yawning abyss looming before them as inevitable death. What lies beyond their spot life, they do not know, and, worse, are unwilling to look.
Now that we're hearing, now that we've heard, our path is clear. We must also call them, call them for Prabhupada, call them for Krsna. Millions of books must be printed and distributed. And, for every town and village-a shining temple, Radha-Krsna's abode. Mrdahgas pulsing, karatalas ringing, Sri Nama Prabhu vibrating across the face of the earth, we must call them again and again by repeating-by repeating what we've heard intact-and by following. With a prayer for success at the feet of Sri Sri Guru and Gaurahga, let us follow exactly, whatever our disqualifications are. O Gurudeva, we surrender life and soul, at your feet. Please make us your puppets; help us to serve you with love.
