New Gokula (Vancouver-Bridesville)

Our repeated obeisances are paid unto the lotus feet of our spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who has so mercifully allowed us to engage in the service of Sri Sri Radha-Madana-mohana, and who has freed us from the mire of material existence. Srila Prabhupada, we bathe your lotus feet with our tears of gratitude, and we anoint our bowed heads with the dust of your lotus feet.

jivanchavo bhagavatahghri-renum na jatu
martyo 'bhilabheta yas tu

"The person who has not at any time received the dust of the feet of a pure devotee of the Lord upon his head is certainly a dead body." (Bhag. 2.3.23)

You have told us here at New Gokula:

matra-sparsas tu kaunteya
sitosna-sukha-duḥkha-daḥ
agamapayino 'nityas
tams titiksasva bharata
(Bg 2.14)

"O son of Kunti, the nonpermanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, O scion of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed."

The words emanating from your lotus mouth, and your gift to us-Sri Sri Radha-Madana-mohana-have given us the strength to carry out our first winter at New Gokula. May your lotus feet be our only attachment past the moment of death into eternal time. Srila Prabhupada, your words are the light of the sun which dispels the darkness of ignorance. We are so fortunate to have been allowed to step into the light of your mercy. We beg the Lord, Hrsikesa, that we may never deviate from the mercy of your instructions. We beg the Lord that our offenses shall not drive us away from the service of your lotus feet.

You have taught us to worship Sri Sri Radha-Madana-mohana and to worship the cow. We are offering liquid religiosity to the Supreme Lord and we are seeing the earth become sanctified by your mercy. Srila Prabhupada, we pray that our service will attract others to take shelter of your lotus feet.
