Sri Vyasa-Pūja Offering
Dear very revered and most merciful Srila Prabhupada, we are dead without you, without your grace. All our joy is simply due to your mercy. You are the lord and master of us, your devotees. Please enliven us with just one drop of your mercy so that we can glorify you.
You have so mercifully drawn us from the pursuit of fake ecstasy; you have shown us that the false rapture we were seeking in dark filthy places is simply nothing. Real joy, real bliss, is open and free. Your disciples are experiencing this in towns and villages, halls and fields, roads and wooded paths all over the world. All glories to sri-krsna-sahkirtana, which cleanses the heart of all the dust accumulated for years together.
Dry logicians and scientists, false religionists and teachers waste their lives and those of their follower over a glimmering of understanding of a spark of the splendor of the Supreme Person. They cannot approach Him because only by loving devotional service is He to be known as He is. This is the science and the logic that you teach. You are His most confidential servitor, and as such you are worthy of all honor. Dear master, please bless us so that we can come alive to the urgency of life, the imminence of death and the all-embracing necessity for loving service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
Dear Srila Prabhupada, there is no love in the material world. We have searched and searched, distorting our minds and defiling our bodies, seeking the pure experience. There was nothing so pure or so absorbing that it could help us to forget the anxieties of birth, death, old age and disease. We were so uneasy before we met your mercy, and so puffed up, thinking that we had found happiness. You are so kind that you have given us the supremely lovable object, Krsna, but you haven't asked us for anything in return. As a result we are obliged to try to give you everything-our bodies, our senses, our minds and our hearts.
You worship Govinda, the Primeval Lord, who is adept in playing His flute, with blooming eyes like lotus petals, His head decked with peacock's feather, with the figure of beauty tinged with the hue of blue clouds, and His unique liveliness charming millions of cupids. The form of Krsna is not a fanciful creation of imagination formed after visualizing the beautiful things of the world. Dear Srila Prabhupada, you are so pure in your desire to take us all back home, back to Godhead, that you have not held anything back from us. The substance of your ecstatic love for your spiritual master is not private. You have revealed it for us all to benefit eternally.
Please give us your mercy so that we can come alive for you and strive to push foward this Krsna consciousness movement, as you are striving to push it forward and benedict all the conditioned souls. Your spiritual master, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Maharaja, used to pace up and down in his room like a caged lion, as he tried to think how he could push on this Krsna consciousness movement and please his spiritual master. Please, please give us your mercy so that we can come alive-for Krsna. There is nothing to live for-nothing to live for except to receive your mercy, and to spread it to all.
Dear Srila prabhupada, in this African Yatra we feel that we are on the brink of a spiritual revolution. By the distribution of your transcendental literature, by the distribution of bhagavat-prasada and by the ecstatic chanting of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, countless thousands will be purified and benedicted. By your grace we can set up Gurukulas and varnasrama colleges to educate thousands in bhagavata-dharma, the supreme science, the practical realization of ecstatic love of God. By your mercy we can set up varnasrama to their natural propensities. The land is here, the people are here, and the knowledge you have given us is here. We meditate on the determination with which you set the Krsna consciousness movement moving in the Western world. When no one was prepared to accept your transcendental message, the transcendental vibrations from your lotus mouth, still you remained constant in your endeavor to fulfill the desires of your spiritual master.
You are a pure devotee, the outward manifestation of the Supersoul, the teacher by example for this fallen, quarrelsome age and the appointed guide to take us back home. We came to you poisoned with intoxicants; we abused you; we made you serve and wash our plates; we mistreated you in so many ways, but still you befriended us, loved us and preached to us until you dropped from exhaustion.
Dear lord and master, please, please give us a fraction of your faith, determination, enthusiasm and devotion. We will set this whole African continent ablaze with ecstatic love and devotions for Krsna.
You have given us so much. We can never repay you in countless lifetimes. We are so fallen and poor in understanding that we can never glorify you or thank you sufficiently. Yet you are pleased to love us as individuals and to accept our efforts to please you.
sri-guru-karuna-sindhu, Please let us drown in your fathomless sweet mercy. This material body is a lump of ignorance, and the senses are a network of paths leading unto death. Dear Prabhupada, as a result of countless lifetimes of actions in passion and ignorance we have inherited death. We have only your mercy to enliven us, only your mercy to sustain us and only your mercy to look forward to. Please, please accept our slight service, and let us live in the ocean of your mercy.
We, your fallen servants, are very much begrudging in our appreciation. Still, everyday we are dancing triumphantly and joyfully singing and chanting your praises. Without you, we are simply helpless children. Please give us the shade of your lotus feet.
