om ajnana-timirandhasya jnananjana-salakaya
caksur unmilitam yena tasmai sri-gurave namaḥ

"I was born in the darkness of ignorance, and my spiritual master opened by eyes with the torch of knowledge. I offer my respectful obeisances unto him."

Influenced by the modes of ignorance and passion, the whole so-called civilization is drifting to hell. Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita:

tri-vidham narakasyedam
dvaram nasanam atmanaḥ
kamaḥ krodhas tatha lobhas
tasmad etat trayam tyajet

"There are three gates leading to hell-lust, anger and greed. Every sane man should give these up, for they lead to the degradation of the soul." (Bg. 16.21)

You are the knight who has appeared in the last minute to save mankind from spiritual death in the hell of material existence, towards which they are rushing like moths dashing into a blazing fire. Armed with the sword of transcendental knowledge, eternal spiritual kingdom received through the hands of guru-parampara, you bravely fight against all-devouring avidya. And as you fight you increase more and more in spiritual strength. By your energy, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness has expanded all over the world, never tiring of releasing your attacks on maya by the distribution of your unsurpassable weapons in the form of "books of knowledge." The enemy is already reduced to struggling for his very life.

In the Caitanya-caritamrta (Adi 1.88-89)

sūrya-candra hare yaiche saba andhakara
vastu prakasiya kare dharmera pracara
ei mata dui bhai jivera ajnana-
tamo-nasa kari' kaila tattva-vastu-dana

"As the sun and moon drive away darkness by their appearance and reveal the nature of everything, these two brothers, Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityananda, dissipate the darkness of the living being's ignorance and enlighten them with knowledge of the Absolute Truth."

In the same holy land of Mayapura, the appearance land of Lord Caitanya and Nityananda, you said this year that the sun and moon have moved from the East to the West. It is up to us to distribute the rays of that sun. It is only by your mercy that this wonder could happen; only by the strength of your surrender to Krsna does the sun now dispel the darkness of ignorance, here in a place which was considered by the Vedic civilization as uninhabitable.

As eyewitnesses of the great effects your movements have obtained, we can simply pray to you for giving us more and more engagements as your insignificant pages. To spread this Krsna consciousness is the only thing needed in the present state of utter confusion. Therefore, let us, as you desire, publish your books as quick as possible (hopefully, we will have caught up with the American Book publishing by the end of this year) and distribute them also. This is the only thing to do, as you have repeatedly stressed: "krsna-katha is the only remedy for the people of the world because it can situate one in the pure consciousness of the self and liberate one from material bondage. To preach krsna-katha all over the world, as recommended by Lord Caitanya, is the greatest missionary activity, and all sensible men and women of the world may join in this great movement started by Lord Caitanya."
