O blessed Gurudeva, lord of my life and lord of your beloved disciples, you have now gone off to join your Guru Maharaja to assist him in the eternal loving exchanges between Radha and Krsna.
You were here in this world a very short while, but long enough to establish throughout the world eternal loving service unto the feet of Lord Sri Krsna, who the world had entirely forgotten. But you came and revived these dead bodies with new life and hope. All of your wonderful qualities I cannot describe in full due to your being like the ocean. I am unable to understand the depth of your greatness. I am deeply saddened not to be able to see your divine form and presence before me anymore. I pray that by your grace you will help me in becoming stronger and stronger and purer and purer so that I can once again gain your association.
I am indeed a great fool-this much you already know. During your stay here you were always kind enough to encourage me to go on with my service, but I, being so selfish and meager, would not part with the pleasure of my senses to please you. Your mercy and kindness and gentleness I never before saw in anyone, anywhere. Prabhupada! I can only weep in agony and shame of how I've wasted the years of my life not taking advantage of your presence on this earth, and now you are gone. I have no sincerity, I am simply like an animal always engaged in animal propensities, so I am fit to be kicked and beaten endlessly.
Although I am in such an abominable condition and unfit to associate with you, I still feel that you eternally encouraged me, even though I was in such a wretched condition. That is your great mercy-to show kindness to such a rascal as myself. Although I know I did not give myself wholeheartedly to you while you were present here on this earth, still I want to change my life and help you in establishing your message of spreading love of God throughout the world. I think I can do that best by cooperating with and serving those who actually loved and served you. All respects and all glories to all my Godbrothers and gurus, I fall at your feet begging your mercy.
