Even though I am completely unqualified and more insignificant than an ant, still I am aspiring for your causeless mercy. I am that dwarf reaching for the moon. I simply pray to Krsna for the intelligence to remain a servant of your nice disciples eternally.

bhavantam evanucaran nirantaraḥ
prasanta-niḥsesa-manorathantaraḥ
kadaham aikantika-nitya-kihkaraḥ
praharsayisyami sanatha-jivitam

It is stated, "By serving you constantly one is freed from all material desires and is completely pacified. When shall we engage as your permanent eternal servants and always feel joyful to have such a perfect master?" (Stotra-ratna 46)

You are like a full moon that stands out brightly amongst so many stars. This cooling and ever-beautiful light that is emanating from you is the only shelter for such a rascal as myself. My past is extremely regretful and yet my mind doesn't permit me to regret. Planting the seed of devotion in a stonehearted creature like myself is difficult, but only a pure devotee like you could do such a thing. I was bound for the deep sea of hellish distress and now I feel the fire of hope within me. Without you I wouldn't know anything. Everything I have learned worth learning I've learned from you. Therefore the sastras enjoin:

tasmad gurum prapadyeta jijnasuḥ sreya uttamam
sabde pare ca nisnatam brahmany upasamasrayam

"Any person who seriously desires to achieve real happiness must seek out a bona fide spiritual master and take shelter of him by initiation. The qualification of his spiritual master is that he must have realized the conclusions of the scriptures by deliberation and he must be able to convince others of these conclusions." (Bhag. 11.3.21)

Because of having these very rare qualifications you are the living example of a perfect devotee. You always remember Krsna, and the exalted sadhus and demigods chant your glories.

There are no bounds to your mercy and there is no end to your glories. As I dwell in this fire of material consciousness I pray that you please bestow your causeless mercy upon me.
