CHICAGO
I bow down to the beautiful lotus feet of my spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada. Taking the sacred dust of those lotus feet, I sprinkle it over my head in great awe and reverence.
By his causeless mercy I have obtained the greatest treasures of the Vaisnava-sampradaya. In the beginning he taught me to dance before the Deity of the Lord with upraised hands, and then he taught me to chant the holy names of Hari in kirtana and in japa.
When I grew hungry he gave me a taste of sacred prasada and taught me to eat samosa and sweet rice. Then for work he gave me the service of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and the association of devotees for my company. For my guidance he gave me the shelter of Rūpa Gosvami and Sanatana Gosvami, and for my play he gave me the Ratha-yatra festival and other holy days.
For reading he gave me the Srimad-Bhagavatam, and for worship the divine forms of the arca-vigraha.
In an empty world he gave me the supreme abode of Bhauma-vrndavana and the transcendental land of Navadvipa. For a place of bathing he gave me the Ganga and Yamuna, and Radha-kunḍa to worship. By his grace I have seen Govardhana Hill.
Within my heart he has established a desire for the loving service of Radha and Krsna and a compassion for the welfare of my fellow men.
When I was tired he taught me to rest, and for service he wakes me again.
By the touch of my spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, I walk and I talk, sit and dance. He makes me do as he likes; I am simply a puppet in his hands, and I bend to his desire. He is my eternal master, friend and well-wisher, and now when I can no longer see his beautiful smile, my heart cries in the agony of separation. By his words I am comforted, and I feel that he is always here, within my heart.
By the grace of my spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, I have obtained everything, although I have nothing to give in return. He has purchased me with his love and kindness, and I have no desire aside from his pleasure. May he confer upon us all his blessings to follow in his footsteps and execute his instructions, that again one day we may walk by his side in the groves of Vrndavana and breathe the fragrance of his association.
