Dear Srila Prabhupada,

Please accept my prostrated obeisances in the dust of your lotus feet. You are the embodiment of the mercy and compassion of the Supreme Lord on all conditioned souls. Your coming to the Western world teaches that a pure devotee will even go to hell to serve Krsna. In the Western countries especially, all the people are miscreants who are grossly foolish, the lowest among mankind, whose knowledge is stolen by illusion and who partake of the atheistic nature of demons. Having no intelligence, not knowing their real life, they all engage in unbeneficial, horrible works meant to destroy each other and the world. Their "philosophy" is that to gratify the senses unto the end of life is the prime necessity of human society. Thus there is no end to their anxiety. Being bound by hundreds and thousands of desires, by lust and anger, they secure money by illegal means solely for sense gratification. None of the people know that the result of their sinful activities will be to repeatedly take birth among the species of demoniac life. Instead of taking knowledge from the great acaryas (self realized bona fide teachers) they prefer to depend on the faulty, empiric-based speculations of the so-called scientists and philosophers. These so-called educators all present their views of creation, life's purpose, etc., on the basis of "I think...," "Maybe...," and "Perhaps...." Even though their imperfect theories are all challenged and replaced by some new idea in the course of time, they still rely on these cheaters because of their great attachment to material sense gratification.

Gurudeva, your mission is to save all these fools and rascals from their miserable, hellish existence. You awaken within the hearts of all sincere aspirants the divine chanting of the holy names of Sri Krsna and Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, and thus all are cleansed of unlimited material desires and purified of all sinful acts by the influence of the holy names. The knowledge you have brought educates all people about the real purpose of live, and enables them to transcend all the obstacles of material existence, summarized as birth, disease, old age and death. This knowledge brings one to surrender to Lord Krsna and thus relieves one of all sinful reactions. In just ten years since your coming to America, you have organized a great army of disciples and followers, with bases (temples) all over the world from which they go out and fight with maya by profuse distribution of the chanting of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, transcendental literatures, Krsna prasada, etc. You are the central figure of the Krsna consciousness movement and have already traveled around the world fifteen times, preaching and expanding this movement. There is no author in the history of the world, save Vyasadeva himself, that can compare with your literary achievements, and learned scholars everywhere respect this movement because of your books. Lord Caitanya's movement is predicted to spread into every town and village, over the next ten thousand years, and you have given the framework and foundation for the entire period in your writings. You have already brought Krsna consciousness all over the globe, and so I must conclude that you are the greatest devotee of Lord Caitanya, an empowered saktyavesa-avatara. The Lord's desires for this world are being executed through Your Divine Grace; therefore the only hope for deliverance from the clutches of maya is complete surrender to your lotus feet. As Lord Caitanya's chief representative, your mercy is available for anyone. Please, kindly pick this wretched soul up from the dirty mire of materialism, and give me some place at the soles of your lotus feet. You are engaging all your disciples in distributing Krsna consciousness, for the ultimate benefit of all mankind. I humbly pray that somehow or other this fallen snakelike rascal may lose his demoniac nature and be purified from the thousands and millions of material desires that lie in my heart like a cancer, so I can render some service in spreading this movement. A life devoid of sahkirtana is the worst punishment of Yamaraja. Please be merciful and always keep me on the sahkirtana party, the only safe position in this world.
