Jagadīśa dāsa adhikārī

O Mighty Gurudeva
Sri Krsna, the Supreme, appeared
Five thousand years ago today
To teach the Bhagavad-gita
That everyone may know his fame.
Aham sarvasya prabhavah,
He is the source of all that be!
Sarva-dharma parityajya,
Surrender at His lotus feet!

Five hundred years ago, again
He came, but in a special way,
Disguised in golden gorgeous hue
And chanting His own holy name.
Due to the darkness of the age
His teachings became obscure,
And so He came to introduce
The only process to endure.

Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna,
Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare,
Hare Rama, Hare Rama,
Rama Rama, Hare Hare

Again the purity was lost,
And so He sent His trusted man,
Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada,
To help the world understand.
A first-class Vaisnava was he,
And preaching was his special power
Defeating all the cheating sects,
The nonsense rascals all would cower.

And now, we see his greatest gift
to help the world to comprehend
The message of the Supreme Lord
By Krsna's grace he knew to send
his dearest, Abhay Charan de,
To shower the entire earth
With Lord Sri Krsna's holy name,
The only thing of any worth.

Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna,
Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare,
Hare Rama, Hare Rama,
Rama Rama, Hare Hare

His greatness will be glorified
For many centuries to come
As one who altered history
And saved the earth from certain doom.
We are all servants of the Lord,
But due to many sinful deeds
We cannot understand ourselves.
We've too many desire seeds.

Around the world misfortune reigns
As people acting whimsically
Create a hellish atmosphere
Where no one can live peacefully.
It's getting most impossible
To know what's right and what is wrong.
Great sinful deeds are being done!
The future sings a gloomy song!

But, now the power of Krsna's names,
Invoked by Srila Prabhupada,
Is altering the atmosphere.
How, all can know the truth of God.
Fulfillment of Lord Krsna's words
And Lord Caitanya's saṅkirtana
Can now be realized in full
As Prabhupada translates on.

O mighty Gurudeva!
O master of my soul!
Please help me if you will,
Although, I'm such a fool.
I must be purified!
It's only by your grace!
Or else I'm doomed to hell!
Where they've reserved a place.

O Krsna give me strength
To always serve his feet
And kick out all desires
As maya may entreat!
I wish I may be drawn
To serve him all the time
As filings always cling
to the magnetic iron!

O mighty Prabhupada!
I hope that you will see
me try to serve your feet
and have mercy one me!
