srimate bhaktivedanta-svamin iti namine
namas te sarasvate deve gaura-vani-pracarine
nirvisesa-sūnyavadi-pascatya-desa-tarine
om ajnana-timirandhasya jnananjana-salakaya
caksur unmilitam yena tasmai sri-gurave namaḥ
Prema-bhakti yaha haite, avidya-vinasa yate, vede gaya yaḥara carita:
O great spiritual master! O most glorious Srila Prabhupada! The exquisite Vedic mantras sing ecstatically of your character. O most perfect Master! I fall down in the dust of your lotus feet, begging you to fan the spark of love within my heart. Kindle within my heart the blazing fire of unalloyed love for your lotus feet, so that the fire will immediately burn to ashes all fruitive desires and mental speculation.
Sri-guru-carae rati, ei sei uttama-gati, ye prasade pūre sarva asa:
O most sublime messenger of Vaikuntha! Your two lotus feet are the transparent via media for seeing the abode of Krsna. All liberations are found in the dust of your feet. Gorgeous and eternal worlds are beheld from the vantage point of the dust of your lotus feet. By tasting the nectar of the dust of your feet, all material desires are quickly annihilated. I am groping in the darkness of lust, O Gurudeva! Lead me at once to the dust of your feet!
Guru-mukha-padma-vakya, cittete kariya aikya, ara na kariha mane asa:
O most fascinating of those who speak and chant! Shine the beacon of your transcendental speaking on my heart. The blissful songs that you sing are a river of nectar flowing into our ears. All the infinite Vaikuntha planets floating in the spiritual sky, as well as the limitless material creation, are all revealed in your Bhaktivedanta purports. Only you know our self-interest; let your instructions be eternally engraved in our minds and hearts. Give us strength to drive out of our minds the venomous black snakes of opinions opposing your instructions.
yasya deve para bhaktir yatha deve tatha gurau
tasyaite kathita hy arthaḥ prakasante mahatmanaḥ
O great Gurudeva! You are glorious like the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Saksad dhartivena samasta-sastraih: O inconceivable servitor Godhead! You are so merciful that you permit a shameless rogue such as myself to participate in your earthly pastimes. In your glorious descent to the earth, you do not kill the demons such as myself, but you save us and become our spiritual master. O beloved Gurudeva, you have shown your mercy to me who was floundering in animal life. Now by your inconceivable mercy let that animal become human, and let that human become Vaisnava, and please, beloved Gurudeva, let that Vaisnava be permitted to humbly and obediently return to his original, eternal post as an atom at the lotus feet of Krsna.
