A ray of light breaks through the night,
giving us hope, restoring our sight.

Sambandha-who carries the torchlight of transcendental knowledge,
Abhidheya-who delivers the nine-fold aspect of service to Krsna as the follower of Rūpa Gosvami,
Prayojana-who chants constantly the glories of Krsna, immersed in ecstatic love.
O spiritual master, O Gurudeva, we are wandering lost and bewildered, thrown hither and thither by the cruel currents of material life.
brahmanḍe bhramite kona bhagyavan jiva
guru-krsna-prasade paya bhakti-lata-bija
guru-krsna-prasade paya bhakti-lata-bija
Please give us shelter at thy lotus feet. You carry within your heart the effulgent personality of Godhead.
premanjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena
santaḥ sadaiva hrdayesu vilokayanti
yam syamsundaram acintya guna svarūpam
govindam adi purusam tam aham bhajami

And your presence is a veritable tirtha (holy place) where all may be purified.

You are empowered to speak the message of God and deliver His love to those who can hear you. To those who can hear you, you stop speaking. As you shower the mercy of Krsna's love upon this burning earth, we stand in awe before your grandeur, glory and endless soothing grace.

"The spiritual master is receiving the benediction from the ocean of mercy. Just as the cloud pours water on the forest fire to extinguish it, so the spiritual master extinguishes the blazing fire of material existence. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a master."
