Haṁsaduta Dāsa Adhikarī & Himavatī Devī Dāsī

Hamsaduta Dasa Adhikari & Himavati Devi Dasi
1) Srila Prabhupada is his name,
from Vrndavana he came
To bless the dumb and spiritually lame
By giving them the holy name.
2) By his grace a dumb man speaks,
And a lame man gets spiritual feet.
He sits on the Vyasa seat,
And countless Prabhus serve his feet.
3) Hear from him, become a speaker;
Deliver the fallen through Bhagavad-gita;
A real mahatma, not a cheater
That you become God interpreting the Gita.
4) Free as a bird in the egg,
Falsely proud, we do not beg
His mercy, so we continue to forget
Eternal life, for birth, old age, disease and death.
5) This human form has just one purpose:
To catch the seed of devotional service.
The goal of life lost without notice;
Instead of God, dog is our solace.
6) God is great and we are small,
But you have taught us, that's not all.
The chief eternal we should call.
Let me serve you. I'm helplessly fallen.
7) Eternally indebted to you,
For opening our eyes, O Sri Guru.
To serve you feet is what we want to do.
Two wretched beggars, we stand before you.
8) Although we're unworthy and unqualified,
Won't you accept us to be purified,
That by your grace we may go inside
The kingdom of God, fully rectified?
9) This is our offering, our prayer is done,
Please allow us to beg your pardon
For exhibiting ourselves so dumb,
Like one with a candle who tries to illuminate the sun.
