Amagha Dāsa
Amagha Dasa
I offer my most humble respectful obeisances unto the golden lotus feet of He who has plucked me up from afar, taken me under wing, and given me some sight to see that I am blind. I sense that in Him there is such love, that one can know no greater. I mean my most beloved Guru Maharaja, His Divine and Loving Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
And I offer Him this feeble poem, which I wrote just before I became His disciple:
Prabhupada, Prabhupada
Living love with golden feet,
I am waiting, tearful, yearning,
For a chance your glance to meet.
I have seen you in your children,
Felt their chanting, dancing love,
Watched their eyes in love transcending,
Known you've come here from above.
There is no one near me like you:
You have made me fall and cry.
There is no one living like you
Here and in the spirit sky.
As I write with pouring eyes,
My heart it burns and twists and cries,
"Where are you, father, Prabhupada?"
I have loved you, but have not.
Living love with golden feet,
I am waiting, tearful, yearning,
For a chance your glance to meet.
I have seen you in your children,
Felt their chanting, dancing love,
Watched their eyes in love transcending,
Known you've come here from above.
There is no one near me like you:
You have made me fall and cry.
There is no one living like you
Here and in the spirit sky.
As I write with pouring eyes,
My heart it burns and twists and cries,
"Where are you, father, Prabhupada?"
I have loved you, but have not.
