yah priyartham utankasya
dhundhu-namasuram bali
sutanam eka-vimsatya
sahasrair ahanad vrtah
SYNONYMS
yahhe who; priya-arthamfor the satisfaction; utankasyaof the great sage Utanka; dhundhu-namaof the name Dhundhu; asurama demon; balivery powerful (Kuvalayasva); sutanamof sons; eka-vimsatyaby twenty-one; sahasraihthousands; ahanatkilled; vrtahsurrounded.
TRANSLATION
To satisfy the sage Utanka, the greatly powerful Kuvalayasva killed a demon named Dhundhu. He did this with the assistance of his twenty-one thousand sons.
